Dear Colleagues,
I need help regarding the modern authentication in Outlook desktop (on Windows) with manual POP/IMAP configuration. We have Microsoft 365 Business Basic licenses. We use it for emails only. We have emails on Outlook desktop with manual POP/IMAP configuration. Recently our emails on Outlook desktop keep asking password. We have the same emails on mobile Outlook application and there weren't any problems. This is because they are not manually configured. Emails on mobile Outlook configured simply with loginning in.
As I read from Microsoft websites that modern authentication will not be supported for Outlook desktop which has manual POP/IMAP configuration.
Here is the quote from below article.
Please note currently Microsoft does not have plans to enable POP/IMAP Modern authentication support for Outlook on the desktop. If you are using Outlook on the desktop, please use a more modern protocol.

Here is the quote from other article.
Note: If you are using Outlook for Windows with POP or IMAP protocol, that will stop working permanently when basic authentication is disabled end of this year. Outlook for Windows does not support modern authentication using POP or IMAP and if you need to keep using those legacy protocols, you will have to use a different email client (for example, Thunderbird).

But at the same time in first article there is instruction how to setup third party application with POP/IMAP to support modern authentication.
Can you help to me to understand, that will it possible to use modern authentication method with Outlook desktop on Windows with IMAP settings. If yes how can we configure it.
When in Outlook desktop we choose login as Office 365 or Exchange then Outlook desktop is working with modern authentication method. But in this case all MS Office applications on Windows are loginning in to my Microsoft 365 Business Basic account, which we don't want.
We want to use modern authentication with our current settings on clients side. How can we do that.
Thank you very much for your kind help and waiting for your.
Best regards,
Azmission
