Just updated to 17.4.1 and the issue has definitely improved but is not completely resolved as results were inconsistent with equal successful tests and original issues replicating.
When uploading 5000 contacts to the linked dummy account. The issue was bearable with a few second delay at the start of the phone call where no voice signal was passed through until about 3-5 seconds into the connected call.
When uploading an additional 5000 (total 10,000) dummy contacts to the linked dummy account. Issues became more noticeable such as: Call not initiating in phone app from trouble device, yet ringing at target device | duplicate calls occurring between source and target phones | longer delays before voice signal was passed through call.
I believe someone listed that this issue is marked resolved and wasno longer going to be worked on by Microsoft and Apple. If someone can please validate that, that would be appreciated. If this is the case, I then need to advise our end users that iOS does not support contact lists larger than 5000 (or something to that degree), as we still have an exemption group for users experiencing this, to not receive the 'Block viewing corporate documents in unmanaged apps' policy from Intune triggering this issue as we need to move all users back to a uniform policy.
