Overview

SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) Access, DB2, MySQL, Oracle, and SAP ASE (formerly SAP Sybase ASE) allows users to convert a database schema to a Microsoft SQL Server schema, deploy the schema, and then migrate data to the target SQL Server (see below for supported versions).

What's new?

The latest release of SSMA enhances the assessment and conversion capabilities of the tool with a targeted set of fixes designed to improve quality and conversion metrics. This release includes the following:

SSMA for DB2 has been enhanced to fix issues with:
- Add support for ORDER BY clause in subquery
- Add support for ROW_NUMBER function
- Improve conversion for UNION/UNION ALL statements
SSMA for Oracle has been enhanced to:
- Add support for LISTAGG function
- Add support for Oracle compound triggers
- Improve detection logic for JOIN clause and PIPELINED functions
SSMA for Mysql has been enhanced to:
- Add support for YEAR datatype
- Improve conversion of comment styles
Improve naming for "Save As" statements for all the flavors of SSMA.

We're continuing our effort to improve the accessibility of SSMA. In this release, we have made it easier for Windows Narrator and other assistive technology to read more elements of SSMA components, and improved contrast and keyboard support.

*Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Azure Synapse Analytics) is supported as a target only when using SSMA for Oracle.
