Interesting.. it mentions DP-203 is being retired..... 🤔
The DP-203 is the certification exam not the actual certification which is actually the Azure Data Engineering Associate. That implies that the certification is also being sunset and people won't be able to take the renewal after the date it is officially retired. I assume that those that have been certified will receive an e-mail indicating this some time before it happens. Thus, taking the DP-700 certification exam is now the obvious choice to get ready for the future.
The DP-203 exam and Azure Data Engineer certification are being retired, and the renewal will also be retired.
Do not expect an email sent to people with the certification to warn them.

In addition to introducing the new certification, we’re announcing the upcoming retirement of the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate Certification and its related Exam DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure. The certification, related exam, and renewal assessments will all be retired on March 31, 2025.

Once a Certification has been retired, it will no longer be available in the Certification offerings. If you earned or renewed a Certification before it was retired, it will remain on your transcript in the Active Certifications section until it expires. Once the Certification expires, it will move the Historical Certifications section of your transcript.
