The organization team is composed by MVPs Alberto Castro, Demian Raschkovan, Eickhel Mendoza, Imanol Iza, Mar Llambí, Mar Pedroche, Marco Amoedo, Mario Trueba and MVP/RD Miguel Llorca as well as community member Angel Ruben Yui and partnered with Microsoft Spain and local universities and business schools, like UTAC University campus in Madrid, to offer the best skilling opportunities to students.
The conference gave a complete 365º view of what Microsoft technology can do, from technical, business, and skilling perspectives. Here's a quick rundown of what went down:
- Day 1: Business Conference, Technical Workshops, Power Platform Hackathon, Partner Expo Zone4.
- Day 2: Technical Conference, Kids Track, Live Interviews, Partner Expo Zone5.
The keynote was presented by Microsoft Business Applications Director Juan Chinchilla and Microsoft Innovation Lead David Hurtado. They talked about Microsoft's vision around AI and how it's changing our work habits and productivity. The business conference had 30 sessions showcasing real use cases of Microsoft Business Applications with local and international customers7. Some sessions focused on hot topics like sustainability, data sovereignty and productivity-driven innovation.
Joe Fernandez, Microsoft’s Power Automate Principal Manager, joined live from Redmond to share some game-changing AI additions to Microsoft Business Applications. There were 63 technical sessions with over 90 speakers, many of them MVPs or RDs. The event also offered 5 workshops, each 4 hours long, providing deep-dive upskilling opportunities on Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Platform integration into M365, and PowerBI.
The MSLA-led hackathon focused on developing a PowerApp solution for the non-profit organization Cienciaterapia. Six teams worked non-stop for 5 hours to create almost fully developed PowerApp-based solutions. The winning team, composed of 6 UTAC university students, presented a creative and innovative Power Application.
The kids had a blast with a PowerApps mini-hackathon and additional Minecraft activities. MVPs Mario Trueba and Marco Amoedo conducted live interviews streamed on YouTube during the event.
The Expo Zone featured 25 Microsoft Business Apps sponsors, 10 more than last year. Each year, the conference supports a social cause. This year, it supported Cienciaterapia, that is a non-profit organization that helps children with cancer learn about science during their hospital stays.
The conference is committed to reducing the gender gap in the tech community. This year, 25% of the speakers were women or non-binary community members.
