To be fair when these 10 years come to end same large enterprises would be begging to extend support for another 10 years 🙂 Well, this is a somewhat philosophical question. Should software or operating systems ever update or just release only security updates after 1.0? It is not happening anywhere. New features are being added, new versions come out all the time for everything. So Windows is not different. In 12k endpoints company here were are managing to stay on n-1 (more often n-2 as we are now on 1909 and only starting to think testing 2004). Personally i overview upgrades, but i'm not dedicated to just that. This is maybe 10th task in the line by importance. This is hard to keep up, i agree, even if upgrades are not breaking stuff. That's why in my comments i am talking about changing the model to 1 feature update a year. This we can handle i think and stay on n-1 more steadily. Of course, with 30 months support all the time 🙂
