delta between old and new 'fundraising' apps
With the Fundraising & Engagement app no longer available for license, is there any good dox that captures the differences between it and the Fundraising 'template' app that remains available from Nonprofit Cloud Solutions? What is in Microsoft Learn seems mostly tailored for the sunsetting package. For example, Receipts is still available in the Cloud template, but it appears to be totally manual. No automation, Receipt Batch, audit trail, etc. For nonprofits considering the Msft NP 'stack' of Fundraising+Volunteers+Outcomes+Grants, it's hard to do a decent evaluation of this (vs., say, Salesforce Non-Profit Cloud, where the docs for each are almost current with actual feature set.) For the bonus round, I'm interested in how non-profits are integrating their payment processor's transactions (ccard, etc) into Fundraising. thxStewC_bffJan 29, 2025Copper Contributor44Views0likes1CommentRaising awareness and funds for Good Days Journey Mental Health Services in Missouri

Led by California Conference for Equality and Justice adult education team, our relationship-centered trainings introduce the core concepts of Restorative Justice as foundational practices in establishing equitable and just cultures. What is Restorative Justice? Restorative Justice is centering relationships in all we do, including when harm happens. Community Building Circles are dialogue-based spaces to build empathy, strengthen community, prevent conflict, and prepare for using Restorative Justice as a way to hold people accountable. This work is rooted in a culture shift away from incarceration & carceral thinking, disposability of human beings, three strikes laws/zero-tolerance policies, racist formal and informal policing, and disproportionately punitive disciplinary models. Training Summary: We explore the following dialogue skills that affirm positive relationships and provide interventions to shift relationships towards accountability and self-directed actions: Affective Statements, Restorative Questions, Active Listening, and Motivational Interviewing. This training includes skill-building experiences and opportunities for self-reflective work to empower us to respond to challenges with others through a relationship-centered lens. I wanted to personally share an opportunity for yourself, colleagues, or members of your community to attend our Open Creating Cultures of Accountability 3- Part Training Series! Also, please feel free to share this information with others! Led by CCEJ's adult education team, this 3 session training will take place in-person at our office in Long Beach on Tuesdays September 10, 17, and 24. This 3-session training series will support participants in creating a productive, trust-building culture of conflict and accountability. By exploring individual and organizational patterns around communication, conflict norms, and how harm is handled, participants will create an essential foundation to support deeper future engagement with each other. Session 1: Understanding Communication (3 hours) In this session, participants will identify how they communicate with one another on a daily basis, and how that may change or stay the same when they are experiencing powerful emotions. Participants will practice communicating about how they experience and show emotions at work in an honest way that also uplifts boundaries and consent. Participants will also reflect on the ways that their identities impact how they express their emotions and understand the emotions of others. Session 2: Leaning into Conflict (3 hours) In this session, participants will explore a needs-based framework of conflict and use it to understand what drives conflict at work. Participants will also reflect on the barriers to engaging directly and honestly in conflict with each other, such as organizational policies or unofficial norms, challenging power dynamics and different relationships to privilege and systemic oppression. Lastly, participants will explore a range of tools to use to use conflict to build trust and strengthen relationships. Session 3: Calling in Harm (3 hours) In this third session, participants will engage in building a culture of accountability when identity-based conflict & harm occurs. Participants will reflect on articulating their values, feelings, & needs to better map out options for responding in real time when harm happens in community. Through common scenarios, participants will practice naming & responding in ways that promote accountability, relational equity, & inclusion for all. Our approved Dynamics providers were not familiar with Fundraising & Engagement and despite managing to install the app into our environment, it's not something we've been able to use. Is it wanting to connect to our banking system via Azure? It's got far more than we need so I'd like to strip it back and remove what I assume are scripts that are causing the current issues with adding donation records. Our Microsoft Partner have suggested that they build what we require from scratch as fresh entities but this seems unnecessary as 1) I think I can do this and 2) It feels like what we want is already there, we just need to scale it back and remove whatever connections it's looking for. Have we missed something obvious? It seems daft to me to rebuild it all when I actually just want to strip it back. Separate to this - the Fundraising & Engagement app shows that setup has not been complete and on the cloud solution it shows that we need to buy licenses but we have bought the 5 free ones so I'm very confused with it. Could this be causing the error when trying to record a donation?NFPChrisAug 19, 2024Brass Contributor1.2KViews0likes11CommentsFirst Fundraiser!
Hello all! I'm Celia, CEO of the African Future Pledge 501c3 Organization. I'm neck-deep in our first www.AfricanFuturePledge.com fundraising project and about to send out donation letters to raise funds for prizes for our young contestants. I hope this platform will support our mission and our fundraising projects. We are definitely rookies, so to speak, but we are also very determined to support our young generations to the fullest. It's nice to be among you and I'm looking to learn all I can that will support our efforts.CeliaAfricanFutureJun 05, 2024Copper Contributor324Views1like1CommentConsidering Fundraising and Engagement for Donor Management
We are looking to replace our existing donor management program (Raisers Edge 7.0), and I would like to talk with someone who is using the MS Fundraising and Engagement solution. A consultant we are working with secured a demo from a Microsoft resource, but it was very high level and run from a script so use case questions were not answered adequately. I see lots of benefit going with a Dynamics/PowerApps based application, but am not able to share that vision in a way that our Advancement team would understand. So, I am reaching out here for some input from anyone who may be using the solution and are either pleased with it, or not pleased, I am open to gathering any input that I can. Thank you in advance.
