I came across a similar issue in this Reddit thread, but unfortunately, there was no solution provided there either.

This is by design and has worked like that for years, my article above is from 2019. If any user has subscribed to the group, they will receive any NDR messages as well, but they will not find them in the Group mailbox.

VasilMichev Thanks, good to know this was the idea, by design.
But then I do not understand why the NDR message is not send to the mailboxes of the subscribers of the Teams group. The follwoing I see in the Drop event:
Reason: [{LED=554 5.4.187 RESOLVER.GRP.SuppressGroupExpansion; Suppress group expansion so messages are not sent to the group members.};{MSG=};{FQDN=};{IP=};{LRT=}]
So there must be a reasen why it is not send.
All settings I can find are set to on, so it should be send. Also the Teams group is open to receive messages from outside the organisation.

The NDR itself was delivered to the group and moved to the Deletions folder, that's not changed. What's changed is that the delivery to any subscriber is also suppressed now... which leaves you without any hint as to whether the message was successfully delivered. But I guess they added this to prevent backscatter spam and similar.
