So I went ahead and purchased this since it said it was refundable within 30 days.
IMPORTANT
If you did not use all of your last year's benefits yet but they have not expired they all disappear when you purchase the offer and are replaced by the analogous new ones.
Luckily I used one of the cloud benefits and took screenshots just prior to purchasing but the rest look like they are gone although there is a reference at the top of the page mentioning there are benefits that need to be activated prior to the older expiration date. Perhaps this is a display issue.
Cloud Benefits for Azure show again with a new expiration date but show as REDEEMED. This may be a display issue as you can go into the selection and it takes you through the steps. I will find out when my original allocation is consumed or expired to see if I can extend with the new allocation.
This display has potential ramifications since the terms of potential refund are based on not using benefits from the offer. If the Azure benefit does automatically apply then technically you will no longer be able to get a refund without potentially a lot of back and forth with support.
I will provide an update at a later time when I have more information.
So bad news.
Currently purchasing the Legacy Gold Benefits produces a significant error.
If you have any Azure credit left from the previous year it wipes it clean even though there are both funds and time left on the benefit. It also automatically applies the new one which technically invalidates and chance of refund when this offer errors out like this. This is wasteful and unexpected.
