Azure DevOps pipeline Jira integration
We are facing an issue on Azure DevOps pipeline integration with jira cloud.
When we enable the "Report deployment status to jira" checkbox by choosing the jira service connection and after clicking on the save button, it is getting disabled by itself.
There is no error popping up to troubleshoot this issue further.
We have service connection in Azure DevOps through Azure pipelines forjira app.

Here, you can check with app’s support, as they will better help you with troubleshooting this issue.
In the meantime, here are a couple of things you can try:
- Double-check the Jira service connection permissions in both Azure DevOps and Jira.
- Re-authenticate or re-add the service connection.
- Clear your cache or try a different browser.
If you need a robust integration between ADO and Jira, you may consider enterprise hub sync tool, which ensure reliable sync, handle failures gracefully. You can easily sync work items, build, pipeline, links and their data between ADO and Jira bidirectionally. Also, you can easily configure which fields to sync, plus sync comments, attachments, images, relationships, and history as well.
You can explore OpsHub [An Atlassian Silver Solutions and Microsoft Partner] for Jira and ADO bidirectional sync.
Hope this helps!
- MathieuLpCopper ContributorHi Karthi,
I'm not sure you have the necessary permissions. May I please ask that you verify this?
I believe the permissions or the API token is the problem.
What you can also do is check-out Exalate, a decentralized integration solution that will be really beneficial for a use-case like this. - intikhabkhanCopper Contributor
There could be several reasons why the "Report deployment status to Jira" checkbox is getting disabled by itself in Azure DevOps pipeline integration with Jira Cloud. Here are a few possible solutions:
1. Check Jira Cloud API Token: Ensure that you have provided the correct Jira Cloud API token to the Azure DevOps service connection. You can create a new API token in your Jira Cloud account settings.
2. Check Jira Cloud URL: Ensure that you have provided the correct Jira Cloud URL in the Azure DevOps service connection.
3. Check Azure DevOps Service Connection Permissions: Ensure that the Azure DevOps service connection has the required permissions to access Jira Cloud. You can check this by going to Project Settings > Service connections and clicking on the Jira Cloud service connection.
4. Check Azure DevOps Project Permissions: Ensure that the user who is configuring the Jira Cloud integration in Azure DevOps has the required permissions to make changes to the pipeline.
5. Try a Different Browser: Sometimes, the issue may be with the browser you are using. Try a different browser or clear the cache and cookies of the existing browser.
