Status of Microsoft Places
In a community call last year, there was a demo of Microsoft Places. Can anyone provide an update regarding the release date of this? We are interested in the hotel desk component of this tool. Also, is it going to be part of the Microsoft 365 licenses, Teams Premium, etc.? Thank you.

- I was really hoping to hear if this product is ever going to be released. We have such a need for this as we're RTO. Any updates?
- No updates, sorry. We're all waiting together. If you need a solution urgently, I recommend Robin or AskUMA. They are the main competitors. Robin is consulting for Microsoft to help build MS Places. In that context, Microsoft is the newbie. Maybe try Robin for a year and then move to Places after they've worked out the early adoption issues.

- FYI...This blog post is from October of last year (2022). Microsoft has not provided any updates since then.
- We have been waiting for this since the announcement as well, but finally had to move forward with an alternate solution as we had to have something in place to deal with hoteling, room and desk reservations. Since MS has been completely silent on this since the original announcement, nothing on roadmap, no anticipated release date, etc... we were forced to move forward vs betting on the come.
- Unbelievable. Feature gone and new replacement feature announced 12 months ago and not even in a real beta yet. What a #fail. You'll hear some about this at #Ignite from the community I bet.
- If your tenant was invited into the beta program, you'd see the app at this URL:

But if you're not part of the beta program, it will say:
"Thanks for coming to Places!
This experience is currently enabled for a group of pilot users.
Once Places is enabled for you, you will receive a welcome email. We look forward to seeing you again soon!"Deleted And that was exactly the message it gave to me 😞 . Great, I'm not part of the 1%, good looks were out of stock when I was born and now I'm not even admitted to Microsoft Places.

- Yes, really incredible. Microsoft discontinued floorplans, which we were about to roll-out, without having the successor ready!

- I actually didn't know that Microsoft had a floor plan feature until I read your post. I did find this but still no communication from Microsoft about Places. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/manage-floorplans?source=docs
- If you have already played around with it in your tenant, you might be lucky. It still works for us (knock on wood). Updating floorplans, also adding new floors. Specifiying string breakdown and indexing speed are as good as ever 😉 Not sure about new locations, though.
So I figure they just don't onboard new tenants. But again, maybe we are just lucky.
