Long numbers handling problem

Hi.

I have a shop with 6600 articles. Some has long article numbers that come from our supplier - so I can't modify them.

Why I can't use it even if I set a custom format with 20xzero (00000000000000000000).

Examples:

good article number: 15977048001200040000

Excel change it to:     15977048001200000000

It delete the 4 if you check the end of the article number

second example:

106010100006500001562

106010100006500000000

It looks like the excel change the last some digits to zero...

I made a test with this 20 digit:

12345678901234567899

12345678901234500000

It definitely delete the last 5 digit ans change to zero.

why???

Thanks

Peter

Thank you for your advice but unfortunately didn't help.

The excel sheet generated by an ERP software and after opening the article numbers they come with this strange visualization. The data may stay good but... i don't know.

    Check this picture:

    the bad visualization circled

Before entering an article number, set the cell(s) to text format:

    1. Select cells
    2. Press control+1
    3. Choose Text and click OK.

It looks like the ERP softvare was the problem. With a different export I could get the right database.

      Thank you for your help.

      Peter
