On premise 2016 to exchange online
Hi all, i have a hosted exchange 2016 with 22 tenanats that I need to migrate. I don't want to install AAD connect or hybrid.
Is there a way to do it manually by importing a CSV file?
Or do a cutover with selective mailboxes?

How large are the mailboxes to be migrated?

I'd be using a 3rd party tool for this scenario. Will reduce the issues significantly and make life so much easier

hi input04 , It all depends on the following parameters.
- Do you have multiple mailbox servers ?
- How do you want your traffic to be routed (external traffic). For example, route external traffic to hit your on-prem org then the traffic route to your on prem ?.
- Route all mails to Online first and route to On-prem through connectors.
- Do a cut over migration where all the traffic goes to Online and de-com on-prem if not required.
- Pretending that you have one OU with more than 1 on-prem server, you would need to run Entra ID connect for each tenant separately.

- No.
- Traffic hits the on prem, yes
I can't do cutover, that's what the entire thread is about, I've read that KB on #5 - Question is, can you use the same vm over and over? Meaning - install a vm, run aad and hybrid on it for tenant #1, finish migration, remove both, proceed to the next one and so on?
Hello! input04
Another method...
Please review cutover migration that Full migration and easy for small tenants.

It is better to Configure the Exchange Hybrid Temporary and do the migration, it will work seamless without any downtime.
You cannot cutover selective mailboxes in IMAP migration since the mail flow will be affected between On-premises and Cloud.
