Learning Action Pack Retirement Impact Query
With the retirement of the Learning Action Pack a couple of questions have come up and whilst I think I know the answer, it is worthy of checking. As many independant MCTs have used the LAPs to legitimately delivery official courses for many years, we wish to continue to follow the rules.
- Is there any requirement on partners who were enrolled as Learning Partners via the action pack to re-enroll/renew their TSP/learning partner status? If there is, please can you point me to the guidance to do so.
- Any TSP/learning partner can purchase any of the benefits packages. Am I right in my reading of the benefits package usage agreement that a TSP/learning partner may use those benefits for training delivery even if that training is income generating activity for the organisation, but not for business activity?
Hi Sara, thanks for your questions and thanks to Julian_Sharp for assisting.
Question 1 - no, if you have been transacting in the ecosystem (achievement codes, surveys, etc.) then you do not need to reenroll or renew any benefits package. With the announcement of LAPs going away in August, we landed a new onboarding process for new partners that is not tied to any benefits or purchase. Only new partners need to complete this onboarding, not existing TSPs.
Question 2 - Any partner type in the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program (what we used to call the Microsoft Partner Network) can purchased the new benefits packages. They are not just for TSPs. As for how TSPs can use the licenses, we are the only partner type permitted to use the licenses for customer trainings (revenue generating activities). You can also use the licenses for business activity. The document where this can be found is here (page 4).
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Julian_Sharp I too feel clarification is needed on Q2 and it was the re-enrollment part of Q1 that I am seeking to clarify. Do LAPs partners need to renroll now or at expiry of pack or never? Hopefully DanDonohue can clarify the enrollment question.
I assume there is no additional enrollment needed, but would like clarity for myself and others

However, I think I misread your question about annual re-enrolling which was required for LAPs previously, sorry.

Q2 is where clear guidance is needed

For Q1 also check the TSP getting started guide as this says the partner benefits packages are optional
