Query on MCT and linking Microsoft learn account
Hi there,
My company is in the process of becoming a Microsoft Training Partner, as our clients have requested official Microsoft 365 training. While going through the process, I had a few questions:
- Can we hire MCTs who already possess the necessary skills and certifications to help us meet the base criteria for partnership?
- If I train my employees to develop their Microsoft Learn profiles and earn certifications, which certifications would be the most relevant to our services? Additionally, how many points do they contribute?
PS: I was advised by the Training Support team to use this forum as it is relevant to Learning Partners.
Thanks,
Anup

Hi Anup, thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Training Services Partner program.
- Yes - MCTs are required to conduct all official Microsoft training. They can be internal employees or hired consultants / contractors. Our partner ecosystem has all types of combinations - it really comes down to what is best for you and your company.
- I'm not sure what your services are and what you're using your employees for in the delivery of those services. Microsoft solutions are split into 6 solution areas. You can focus on one or all. As an official Microsoft TSP you are permitted to conduct training on any official course. The MCT delivering the course needs to have certification in the area they are teaching, however. More information on MCTs here.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Dan,
Thanks a lot for your reply
I was just further wondering if I do hire external consultants to provide Microsoft trainings , will their qualifications allocate to my company's profile in reaching the minimum KPIs ( ie 200 points) requirement.
As we need to fulfil our base criteria + specialization to enroll in the Training service provider program.- DanDonohue

The Training Services Partner program has no KPI minimums for participation in our ecosystem. We require that you register as a Microsoft partner, complete our TSP onboarding form, and then complete the necessary onboarding steps as outlined in our Get Started documentation. The KPIs in the TSP program are for achieving Solution Area badging in one of Microsoft's 6 solution areas. This part of the program is not required, but does come with additional benefits such as software licenses.
The MCT's activity doesn't directly relate to KPIs. However, MCTs are generally valuable in getting learners to complete their MTM surveys and redeem achievement codes, which does directly impact your program KPIs.
