New copilot error preventing use

I have a paid subsciption (personal as it is simply me).  i have been using copilot in all the apps appart from Outlook which i just cannot find.  Howver the past week Powerpoint consistantly only provides the following error:

As a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriber, you'll be able to use Copilot when you're signed with your Microsoft work or school account (Entra ID) and Microsoft personal account. However, that ability is not yet available.

i have checked my subscription, my login, tried personal / work or school etc.

word seems just to now hang preparing the side bar.   again, i have been using this for months. this is just now.

thank you.... i see google full of this error, so i presume it is know, but i cannot find any solution mentioned
