Where are the prompts in the new prompt gallery saved?
Recently Microsoft announced the New Prompt Gallery: New Copilot Prompt Gallery helps you discover, save, and share your favorite prompts | Microsoft Community Hub. From a business perspective: Where are the personal prompts saved and how are they protected by the enterprise data protection?
Ingo-Hampe The new gallery is stored inside of the M365 service boundary but outside of any customer tenant boundaries. The prompts themselves are stored in the Substrate data store which, again, is a part of the overall M365 service + a bit of additional detail on the storage and how the Copilot prompt gallery interacts with users/tenants can be found here: Understand Copilot Prompt Gallery | Microsoft Learn

Any prompt that is stored in your Exchange online tenant - yes, your retention policies would cover. The prompt samples which are provided to all Microsoft customers and accessible via the prompt gallery (Copilot Prompt Gallery) are not stored in your tenant and therefore not targetable by your retention policies.
