Cannot download Onboarding package

Hello, we're having problems when trying to download the Defender onboarding package. Tried different OS, different deploying methods but within a second of clicking Download onboarding package we get a popup saying "Client Error. Failed to get APK url from server"

Anyone seen this before?

Lokaalin: You might want to check if there are any network restrictions blocking the connection. Try a different network, check for updates or known issues from official support like wormzoneapk.com, and ensure there are no firewall or proxy settings interfering. Hope this helps!

You might want to check if there are any restrictions on your network that could be blocking the connection to the server. It could also be helpful to try using a different network or checking if there are any updates or known issues with the Defender onboarding process from the official support channels. Additionally, you can find various troubleshooting guides on related tech issues at websites like PowerDirector, which offer solutions for different software and application problems. Hope this helps, and you get it sorted out soon!

    Hi,

The "Client Error. Failed to get APK url from server" message usually indicates an issue with accessing the Defender onboarding package URL. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:

    1. Check Network Connection: Ensure your network connection is stable and not blocking the URL.
    2. Verify Permissions: Make sure you have the necessary permissions to access and download the package.
    3. Clear Cache and Cookies: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try downloading again.
    4. Use a Different Browser: Try using a different browser or updating your current one.
    5. Check Server Status: Verify if there are any ongoing server issues with Defender or maintenance activities that might be causing the problem.

    Best regards.

    Hi Lokaalin,

here are some troubleshooting steps that may assist you:

    1. Verify Minimum Requirements:
Make sure that your devices meet the minimum requirements for onboarding to the services.

    2. Onboarding Tools:
If you've completed the onboarding process but don't see devices in the Devices list after an hour, it could signal an onboarding or connectivity issue.

    3. Inspect Event Viewer:
Navigate to the Event Viewer by clicking Start, typing "Event Viewer," and pressing Enter. Look for WDATPOnboarding events under Windows Logs > Application.

    4. Check SENSE Logs:
In the Event Viewer (Local) pane, explore Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > SENSE.
    5. Install Windows Defender Server Role:
Ensure the Windows Defender server role is installed on the server before attempting to download the onboarding package.

LeonPavesic Hi Leon, thank you for that. The problem occurs when trying to download the onboarding package itself from the portal.

Hi! I had the same problem, new inkognito browser and disconnect from company VPN solved my case.
