Class Teams vs "Normal" Teams
Hi everyone,
I work at a large educational institution which have rolled out Teams for staff. We're looking at whether Class Teams would work for us too.
Is it right that the essential difference between the normal/global Teams for staff, and a Class Teams deployment, is one of permissions and how those permissions for faculty and students are managed?
Basically, I guess my question is, "What is the advantage of us deploying Class Teams over creating a normal staff Team with students as members?". We're an HE institution, so not an issue with minors, and we have a robust electronic assessment system so we wouldn't use the assignment feature for summative assessment. Does a deployment of Class Teams give any significant advantage over the Staff set up we already have?
Any thoughts very welcome 🙂
- Hi!
You can read some differences here:

The main difference is the OneNote integrations being different than from the "public" offering
Then of course licensing and so on
