Moving from skype to teams does not migrate my chat history
Hello,
I have tried to login to teams using my skype username. It prompt me to merge my skype account with my personal email. I clicked yes. it successfully logged me in into Ms Teams.
I cannot see my skype chat history into teams and also not all of my contacts are there. I have enabled skype account contacts to sync from Settings => People => Sync contact => Manage but still not all contacts are synced and no chat history at all.
Anyone knows how can I import the chat history as well?
Thank you in advance

At the moment, you need to make sure you join as "Teams Insider" then login to "Teams Personal" with your skype account. Teams Insider Program | Microsoft

Can you show exactly what you mean by login to Teams Personal. I did Teams insider and still have no history. I can't find teams personal in skype or here - so can you link to a PDF or show illustrations helping us to get chat history over. I don't want to chance this happening in May - want to migrate now.

Again, the main problem is the way Microsoft has been handling this. Regular users are getting different information (or none at all). Is Microsoft excepting regular users belong to the Teams Insider Program (keep in mind that many of them are not even Teams users yet)
It is not about the short notice, because there was no statement from Microsoft until the News outlets started posting about the end of Skype. As of today, the Skype clients have zero banners warning users that the end is near (are they also expecting that all regular users follow technology news too?)
It seems like Microsoft itself didn't even know that Skype is ending!

This looks like a really bad move. I merged my skype account with the microsoft account long time ago. and when I log into teams now there is no sync at all.

I have the same problem with Teams Free and Teams 365. I just asked Copilot Pro the same question and contrary to some promises made by Microsoft, it said that neither contact nor history will be migrated. So, what is the point of adding my Skype credential to Teams?
My test with the Teams 365 Windows App and Browser version, just gave me a bunch of error messages and then I had to perform some clean up.
It is really sad how Microsoft seems to be handling this.
