MS Teams not outputting to my headphones/headset.

Hi,

I'm connecting with my Bose NC700 Headphones (https://www.bose.com/p/headphones/bose-noise-cancelling-headphones-700/NC700-HEADPHONEARN.html) and they work under Windows 10 Pro.

While they are also connected to my phone (Pixel 6) and Window laptop, I can hear YouTube videos fine and I can record fine. However, I can't hear anyone when I connect to a meeting, though those in the meeting say they hear me. I've tried using the "Call me" feature to connect to the meeting, but after a while, I get choppiness in hearing and others say I sound choppy. Attempting to force to all Teams.exe to priority 13 seems to help, but the issue is still there. I've also attempted this while disconnecting from my phone with the same results.

Doing a test call Settings > Devices > Make a test call seems to also has this same issue. More > Settings > Device Settings shows mic's bar rising and falling and the circle around Echo flashes to appear to indicate that it is trying to say something. Switching to internal speakers bear this out. The mic works, I'm just not getting output to my headset/headphones.

At one point there was a workaround where I'd have to connect to the meeting, go to More > Settings > Device Settings and changing the speaker to the laptop and then back to my headset, but this workaround also no longer works. 😠

I've had to resort to connect to the meeting on my phone, but now I can barely see anything on the screen. Connecting to both laptop and phone causes the phone output to stop working (not sure about the mic) even when I tell the laptop connection to not use audio which says, "Join muted to avoid causing audio disruption". NOTE: There is no Test call" to allow me to verify this type of connection and would be appreciated for diagnostics.

Anyone else having this issue? I've been crippled from BEING ABLE TO DO MY JOB for over a couple of months now AND IS GETTING VERY TIRESOME! I need at least a workaround that works other than connecting with my phone so I can see what's being presented.

Thx.

I encounter this issue from time to time with both of my Bose headsets. Usually, it’s resolved by installing a necessary Windows or firmware update. When I checked for updates on my computer and selected the firmware update, it solved the problem.

Somewhat bizarrely, I have a similar issue with my new Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones in Windows 10 (version 22h2). If I connect via the 3.5mm jack then I can hear in Teams no problem. If I try to use the headphones through USB then it all goes silent (even with all the audio settings correctly applied in Teams). But, and here's the weird thing, if I then pull up the Sound Settings panel, immediately without doing anything, it all works fine (unless I then minimise the panel in which case it all goes quiet again).

Hi! A_D_R_I_A_N I know this is an older thread but I am having the same issue with my Bose NC 700. I have tried everything and just like you described, I can only seem to hear via Teams if I completely reboot my computer and then it will work for a short time and then I cannot reconnect. I’ve tried playing with all the audio settings on my computer, the Teams application, and deleting and re-pairing the headphones with my computer and all other devices. I cannot get it to work and like you, I find it extremely frustrating because I rely heavily on these for work and now I feel that I have wasted my money on these headphones. I only bought these because they said they were guaranteed to work with Microsoft Teams. Has anyone found a workaround or have any other ideas? I feel like I have legit tried everything to get these to work and they simply don’t. It will seem like they are connected but I can’t hear anything, just as OP describes.

I have a Bose QC45 headset, connecting via Bluetooth. Had no problems for about two years, then about November 2023 it started. It will work sporadically and then stop after a call. Requires a complete reboot to work again. This is a major pain.
I have the exact same issue with Skull Candy noise cancelling earbuds.

@ame issue here. I am using a Sennheiser Momentum 4 headset.  It was working until Teams got patched and has been sporadic for the last few weeks.  Any update or workaround.  This is happening with Teams only. I tried Zoon and music etc. and it's working including with system sounds. I am on Windows 11.

Do I take it no one has had a similar issue (except for the one person who like this post)? Or is everyone just apathetic because MS has a tendency of not fixing issues, so no one wants to weigh in? :cry:

It's not just you. Except my device is a Sennheiser 450HD. Microphone is not detected at all; no input levels being shown. No sound from the meeting either, despite audio from other source (e.g. music player, video streams) working just fine.

That said, Teams has been a problem for this headset from the very outset, so my confidence in issues being resolved in this space is low.
