Scheduling Meetings in Private Channels
Hi, Can anyone confirm this this works, or indeed doesn't? I can't seem to schedule meetings into Private Channels, but can't find if this should actually work. Thanks,

Currently, you can't schedule meetings in private channels.
As stated in the article

We're continually adding capabilities to private channels so check back for the most up-to-date information regarding apps, channel meetings, and scaling private channels for large teams
You can however do meet now's in private channels

ChrisHoardMVP Has this matter been resolved? I would love to be able to schedule meetings in private channels or be able to invite the channel members to a meeting. It seems the ability to add a private channel to a new meeting doesn't work either.
I see a new option in the Preview Teams client mentionning we can "schedule a meeting".
Currently that is grey and we can see a "Your admin hasn't enabled this feature".
Because I am the Admin for Teams, my users ask me to unlock this option...I have check the Microsoft Roadmap and I don't see anyhting regarding meeting in private channel.
Do you know more?XavierTro i have come across the same thing. The client says "our admin hasn't enabled this feature" however in the admin center in the Meeting Policy this is turned on and it still doesn't work....
So all i can suspect is this is something that is coming... but why you can enable the option in the admin center and it still not work is beyond me.

How is it that it is now October 2022 and we are still unable to schedule meetings on a Team's private channel ?

ChrisHoardMVP It's been two years since this thread started. Any thoughts on when private channels will be able to schedule a meeting? I noticed in this article (dated 3/23/2022) that it's still unavailable.

This really is a big con. In a year I hoped they have fixed this but it is still not possible to create a meeting within a private channel. Which makes it hard to actually communicate within this channel so I see no pros in using private channels.- This is such a gap, gets in the way of fully integrating with Teams.
This along with several other gaps in channels (public/private) and URL links for private channels
Please make private channels fully functional with all channel features.
ChrisHoardMVP I have noticed that the meeting schedule is now available in Private Channels which is new, but when you come to use it unfortunately it errors...any updates/advice. Thanks

This thread will give you some good workarounds including ad-hoc and email but we all need to see a native solution. This has gone on way too long.

Sarahcampion Unfortunately when you use the Schedule Meeting from inside a Private channel that Channel is still not able to be added. It is a bit deceiving and i did get excited when i saw that.
NaguiBihelek Sarahcampion Ditto. The function exists -- I can select Schedule a Meeting -- but then nothing appears in the 'Add channel' entry for the New Meeting pop-up. When i Schedule a Meeting in a public channel, the channel's name is auto-populated in the 'Add channel' entry for the New Meeting. Seems MS still has a bug or two to remove to make this (that is, scheduling a meeting in a private channel) truly do-able.
+1 for this feature, super important!
Please, can you show me how to do meet now in a private channel? in my teams i can't see that button.

Sir, is there already a timeline or target date for the implementation of set schedule in the private channel or adding calendar by selecting private channel.
