As I said in my main post, H5P objects have to be hosted somewhere before you can embed them on a SharePoint page. That applies to wherever you want to use H5P, not only in SharePoint. I also explained that you have two options for creating and hosting your H5P content:
1. On H5P.com which is a paid service
2. Self hosting on a H5P enabled WordPress or Drupal site.
I need to add, perhaps, for those who are interested to self- host but don't want the added load of publishing a website, that you don't actually need to publish your content on the WordPress or Drupal site. In other words you don't need a fully fledged site. You can simply use it to create and host the H5P content. It does not need to appear in a post on the website. In fact your "website" need not even be published at all. It can simply act as an incubator for your H5P content. From there you can then embed it anywhere you want, using iframe embed code.

Looks like https://h5p.org/comment/39233#comment-39233 seems to say there is a way for "self hosters" to integrate directly to OneNote 👍
