HellosikeCC
welcome to the Microsoft community, My name is Yakubu Suleman I'll be happy to help you today;
I understand that you are unable to @ mention channels in new teams.
Please note that you can make this work in the new client.
You must be an "owner" of the channel, and using the new version of teams, to make this change.
Click on the 3 dots (...) next to the channel name and select manage channel.
Click on the settings tab
Click on @mentions to expand the selection
Check the box next to "Give members the option to @channel or @[channel name]. This will notify everyone who's shown the mentioned channel in their channel lists."
When I checked this setting using the previous version of teams it shows enabled, but when checking the setting in the new version @mentions were disabled for the channel. I know that doesn't make any sense given that it should be a server side setting, but that's what I found.
Also re-confirm the behaviour on the web, If you can mention on web teams
1. Quit Microsoft Teams. Right-click the icon and select Quit.
2. Cut and paste %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams into File Explorer.
3. Delete the contents of the entire folder.
4. Restart Microsoft Teams.
I believe this helps
Regards.
