I have changed back to the old version of Teams because the whole notifications thing is not working for me.
I was not getting any notification that I had an incoming call until I turned Windows Focus Assist off, then I got Teams call notifications coming through, but it wasn't the Teams app that was showing the notification, it was a Windows notification pop up ,the ring tone was different and it didn't play the ring tone through my laptop speaker, it played it through my headset, so I didn't hear it most of the time.I'm hoping these are only temporary changes and when the app is rolled out for real, the notifications will work correctly.
