How to change the people view layout in new outlook

I don't like the current view in People section for my contacts in the new outlook.  I want to be able to view my contacts like a phone book like the old outlook allowed me to where I can see the names, companies, addresses, phone numbers on each line.  It seems like the new outlook is limited to sorting names and does not allow you to add or remove columns or change the layout to a phonebook type view like the old outlook did.

Any suggestions other than reverting back to old outlook?

If there is a feature missing from the New Outlook that you really need and you can not remain on or switch back to MS365 Classic Outlook, then I would suggest buying a license for Office Home & Business 2024.

This gets you a copy of the real, classic, Desktop Outlook 2024. Outlook 2024 is NOT the New Outlook (even though many web sites mistakenly call the New Outlook "Outlook 2024"). Outlook 2024 is NOT the MS365 Classic Outlook (but MS365 Classic Outlook was based on Outlook 2019). Outlook 2024 is the latest in a long line of Desktop Outlooks, from Outlook 2007 thru Outlook 2019.

  • To see contacts by Company, choose the Sort drop down.

Yes, I agree that New Outlook contacts need improvements. Currently, it is missing the List view and the ability to customize or rearrange columns. However, I do like easy access to the files and messages that the person and I have shared in our emails.

Agree, new outlook contacts view is terrible.  No ability to view by company.
