Outlook shared mailbox showing all Inbox mails
The group folder in:
- Outlook (Classic) shows group mail + all Inbox mails
- Outlook (New) shows group mails only
- Microsoft 365 – OWA shows group mails only
Question: I prefer using the group folder in Outlook (Classic) to display only group emails. While OWA and Outlook (New) show this correctly, I can't seem to find the right setting in Outlook (Classic). Can you assist me with this?
The issue was resolved by creating a new Outlook profile and downloading the entire mailbox.

- Not sure I follow, can you please share some more details? By "group folder" do you mean the group node on the nav pane? This recently got overhauled and the new experience will not be available in classic Outlook, afaik.
Generally speaking, Microsoft 365 Groups and shared mailboxes are two different things, and behave quite differently in Outlook/OWA. So can you please clarify what you mean?- LighthouseCopper Contributor
Sorry for the late reply.
I created a group, which automatically comes with a shared mailbox and agenda. Below are screenshots of what I see in the Outlook desktop application and what I see in a web browser (OWA). Hopefully this clarifies it.
