Thanks for the response. Even though your PMs have updated their projects using the PWA user interface, they will still need to open their projects in Microsoft Project and then publish the latest changes. This will cause the master project to be updated. Hope this helps.

Thank you Dale_HowardMVP for taking time in responding to my concern and for your kind gesture.
As we know that we cannot create/edit the Master project from the web interface (correct me if I am wrong), so we created the Master Project from MS Project Professional and added the sub-projects as "Read-only".
Our concern is that we do not want to give licenses of MS Project to the Project Managers (PjM) so we have given the license to the Program Manager (PgM) only. However, the PgM should not edit the project itself. Moreover, the Executives should be able to see the updates happening on the Master Project through the web interface.

You left out one very important piece of information. Who is responsible for updating the subprojects? Please let us know and we will try to help you.- tanzimshaikhMar 28, 2024Brass ContributorProject Managers do the updates using the web browser to their projects.

What you are describing does not make any sense. How can your project managers make updates in PWA if they do not have licenses? They would need a Project Plan 3 license to open and edit the project in the Project Center in PWA, and they would need a Project Plan 1 license to apply task updates using the Tasks page in PWA. And if they are updating tasks on the Tasks page in PWA, someone will need to approve those tasks updates so that they are pushed into the respective project(s). After approving those task updates, the approver must open the project(s) in Microsoft Project and then publish the latest changes to the project(s). Hope this helps.
