I don't have the blog subsite option
My company used to own a blog on InfoShare. We're now moving on to SharePoint modern sites and "News" seem too limited to our needs, since we'd require the users to be able to search for news by category (I know news can be categorized, but there's no possibility for the visitor to search by category). Therefore we'd like to opt for the old blog functionality. Nevertheless, I don't seem to have that option on my subsites:
Do you have any rough idea of why this is? Thank you in advance!
ruthmof For individual "blogs", consider using Viva Engage Storyline. People can assign Topics to their posts and you can get the same outcome you had with the legacy (and no longer recommended) blog site template. Storyline in Viva Engage - Microsoft Support

SusanHanley Thank you! Seems like Storyline is meant for Outlook, Teams, but not a Sharepoint page, it requires a workaround too complicated for the blog contributors 😞
In my opinion, the template is not there because it's a legacy template + it's not recommended to create subsites nowadays
