My Windows 11 won't boot into safe mode.  I get to the step where I choose "4" to boot into safe mode, but instead my pc goes into automatic repair.

    Why is this?

    Open Settings:

    1. Press Win + I to open Settings, or you can search for it in the Start menu.
    2. System: Click on "System" and then "Recovery".
    3. Advanced Startup: Under the Recovery options, find the “Advanced startup” section and click on “Restart now”.
    4. Troubleshoot: Once your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, click on “Troubleshoot”.
Advanced Options: Then select “Advanced options”.
    5. Startup Settings: Click on “Startup Settings” and then on “Restart”.
    6. Enable Safe Mode: After your PC restarts again, you'll see a list of options. Press 4 to start in Safe Mode, or 5 for Safe Mode with Networking if you need internet access.

      Holaway

I have tried this with option 5 and it will not go into safe mode with networking even though that is the option I had chosen.

Sorry, assumes facts not in evidence:

The re-start after an update isn't allowing a complete reboot to occur. System clock presented via lock screen, .mouse click, moves to login text box. Keyboard not enabled, login screen closes, and the display is again showing time-date. Three attempts to restart system fail to bring up system. Cannot enter Safe Mode using F8, while sys. starts (presumably). Not finding here, old school way to enter Safe Mode, from power on reset!

kevomac12  I am having exactly the same issues after loading Windows 11.  Worked fine at first, then all programs seemed to slow down and then would eventually freeze. B using Control + Alt + Del I would then be able to shutdown and reboot. Yesterday I had a blank (black) screen and when I try to restart in Safe Mode the Home screen with icons appear but all Windows 365 icons appear to be blank and the screen is flashing on and off. It would appear that there is some sort of driver issue but now I am stuck.

vanaspva  I ended up having to reformat my computer and re-install Windows 11 and Office 365 and now it appears to be working after a few initial issues. This was not a happy experience and took over 24-hours to complete.
