We are very excited to announce an Azure Communication Services AMA!
An AMA is a live text-based online event similar to a “YamJam” on Yammer or an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with Microsoft product experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.
Feel free to post your questions about Azure Communication Services anytime in the comments below beforehand, if it fits your schedule or time zone better, though questions will not be answered until the live hour.

- Meltron5000Copper ContributorIs there a roadmap for features related to Dynamics integration? I'm interested in routing PSTN calls to users based on attributes in Dynamics, is this possible/is there documentation? Thanks!
- manoskow-msft
Microsoft
Hi! We are absolutely investing in our partnership with Dynamics. You can see some documentation here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-service/voice-channel-acs-resource We have more features coming in the future, but don't have any specific information to share at this point yet.
- MTayalIron ContributorWhat are the Use cases we can start with ACS, please provide simple 2 or 3 examples to start with
- manoskow-msft
Microsoft
Hi MTayal!
Azure Communication Services is a platform offering - so users can customize and expand on top or their existing solutions or build new solutions from scratch.
Some ways companies have used ACS SDKs include:
- Telehealth scenarios: having a healthcare provider and patient join a video call together for remote appointments- Consulting experts: you can join video/audio calls, or chat with an expert to get help, ask questions, and solve customer problems
- Marketing and notifications: send alerts and reminders using SMS, in-app, or chat notifications to let customers know about order updates, services outtages, etc.
Hope this helps! Here are some samples to get you started: Samples overview page - An Azure Communication Services sample overview. | Microsoft Docs
- Marcus2030Copper ContributorHi, my name is Marcus and I'm an IT administrator in a small company in Germany. What do you "cover" under the term Azure Communication service? O365 products? Azure SQL Teams Could you please give a short overview, what we are about to discuss? Thank you.
- marcusmatthias
Microsoft
Hi Marcus, ACS is a fully managed platform to deliver video, voice, chat, text messaging, and telephony experiences anywhere your customers are—across your applications, websites, and mobile platforms. This forum is an opportunity to ask ACS team members questions about the platform.
- Marcus2030Copper ContributorGreat, that is a very valuable information to start with. T h a n k you!!!
- Christopher PolanishBrass ContributorIs ACS available through CSP? The last time there was one of these AMA's it was still coming, wondering if the option has been added yet.
- marcusmatthias
Microsoft
Hi Christopher, The CSP program is available for non-telco offers today, and it is available to Modern CSP customers for telco services. Please see this link for more information on Telco offers for Modern CSP.
- fxjoosCopper ContributorHello, do you have any G.A. date to share with us for ACS ?
- JadaCampbell
Microsoft
Sure! Azure Communication Services went to general availability in March of 2021. This included our core primitives like chat, voice and video calling, telephony, and SMS. We've added new capabilities since then that have went GA (for examples, Teams Interoperability went GA in December last year) with more features coming soon. - katya_trishina

Hi! Azure Communication Services is generally available, however, there is some services/features that are in Private/Public Preview. Could you please specify which particular service you are interested in?- fxjoosCopper ContributorActually we looked at ACS some time ago for HoloLens development in particular and some features (screen sharing for example) were not available on this platform. Do yo have any link pointing to features comparaison per supported platform ?
- Christopher PolanishBrass ContributorWe're currently using ACS as an IVR system for our support phone line. The way we currently have things set up, our support phone number is configured as an auto attendant in Teams (so that we can do time-of-day and holiday based routing) and it then forwards externally to our ACS phone number so the person calling gets connected to the IVR bot. This currently results in us getting double-billed (the inbound call and the outbound transfer), obviously not ideal. Are there any plans to tie everything together so that we can have a Teams auto attendant transfer a call directly to a bot? ACS would seem to be the logical way of doing setting this up but currently only seems to support ACS > Teams, and not Teams > ACS.
- katya_trishina
Microsoft
Hi Christopher! Yes, it's on the road map but we don't have a solution right now. I would be interested to learn more about your use case and requirements. Could you provide your email so I can follow up?- Christopher PolanishBrass Contributor
Sure, (email removed)
- Greg_YeeCopper ContributorWhen will next upgrade to Azure Devops be scheduled

- EricStarkerFormer EmployeeHello! I'm not sure what you mean here, but if you have a question specifically about Azure Communication Services, feel free to respond with it here.
- Dan FitzpatrickCopper ContributorI'd love to participate in this, but considering the inbound call delays with Teams VOIP and Auto-Attendant, I'm not comfortable pursuing further integration into the Azure ecosystem until Teams VOIP is properly functional.
- katya_trishina
Microsoft
Hi Dan! Thanks for your feedback. When you say Teams VoIP do you mean Teams interop scenario?
