In addition to the card for a channel to tell about the channel, a subscript (like how shared channels work in the non-owner tenant) that tells you what Team it is a part of should be added. If my tenant has a lot of Teams made off of a template so there are a lot of channels with the same name, I don't want myself or users to have to take extra time to wait for a card to appear, or hope the team icon fully loads. Much quicker and accessible if I can read the team as a super or sub script over a channel that is not under it's team name.

Thanks Jayna for the feedback, I will share back with the team.

The eBook link and the User Guide link on this page both go to the same PDF.
It certainly seems like they should be different documents.

Hi Kevin, try refreshing the page (a full reload), it's possible there's an older version of the page without the latest links. Meanwhile, try this link for the eBook:

How is the new change is going to impact the SharePoint integration in team channel?
- LindsayZandyCopper Contributor
From a compliance standpoint, we will have to modify the wording in our policies - our chats have different retention policies than our channels do. Now that they're both grouped under "chats" we have to be super specific and teach people how to spot a channel vs. chat. It used to be much easier - everything in chats disappears after 30 days and everything in Teams stays for longer.

Does the new "New Message" button suggest existing chats, group chats, and channels so that users do not accidentally start new group chats, or channels because they didn't know they existed because of the breakup of Team bound (visually) channels.

Microsoft
Yes! That's exactly what it does, promotes reuse of existing ones vs creating new ones and fragmenting conversations. Thanks for asking.

Would be nice if you could "share a link" to a custom group and share that with a colleague so they can click it and have the grouping and nested chats & channels appear in their Teams.

The materials and video so far show the filters and mentions. How will working in channels change? Are there any changes to tabs? By default, are New Teams and New Channels going to be hidden or hard to see after extensive customization with the new feature.
- Roshin Ramesan
Microsoft
No changes to working within the channel. Creating new team or new channel is an option on the top, along with new message.

What guidance do you have on channel names? If we have a team's structure with templates so the channels have a lot of similar/same names across, how will user be able to tell channels apart without having to rename all channels or click into each channel to know what team it's for?
- ahaahjemCopper Contributor
Can the same channel/chat be placed in more than one section? If the same team works in different projects.
- Shikha_Varshney
Microsoft
No, same channel/chat cannot be placed in more than one section.

It is great to hear that the goal is to make using Channels easier. Are you monitoring this to make sure this does actually promote the use of Channels? If it doesn't help, will you continue to iterate?
I have the same concern that it will be MUCH more difficult to help users understand when they aren't using the correct tool. This removes the clear distinction between Channels and Chats.
This will be even worse when you launch the next phase and include threads for Chats.- Roshin Ramesan
