In Purview Activity Explorers, is there a way to save custom filters? There are the built-in filters, and then you can add additional filters, but never see an option to save. If not possible, is this a future enhancement coming?
- Sarahzin_Shane
Microsoft
Here you go, here's our public roadmap details for the feature

There is a feature coming on this to support saving filters for Activity Explorer - Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365

This is a roadmap item, please refer to Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365 for more details.
When will we see integration between the container sensitivity labels (groups and sites) and item sensitivity labels (files and emails)? It would be great to create a container sensitivity label and have the option to add an item sensitivity label that will be added as the default label on a Document Library. If this is planned, will the default label on a Document Library apply to existing and new Document Libraries added to the site

Thanks for sharing the link Sarahzin. nikkichapple this is indeed the feature discussed during the AMA, and indirectly what will accelerate the Secure By Default deployment blueprint discussed together

In customer evaluations of Purview, one of the biggest obstacles is when they say "I have data in AWS, GCP, whatever..." and when that data becomes 20% to 30% of the estate, even though the other 50% or 60% is M365 and another segment is Azure, it's difficult for the customer to choose Purview because of material residual risk. Do you have a favored story, key features, or product truth approach you would like to see more partners and customers presenting and considering in this situation?
- MaximeBombardier
Microsoft
Hi WS_Anderson , we unfortunately didn't get to this question during the talk today -- First off, Purview offers the ability to work on multiple data sources beyond M365 -- you can review which capability is available per data sources here: Microsoft Purview Data Map supported data sources and file types | Microsoft Learn.
I'd follow this with that the question is really a conversation to have -- i.e.: what's the intent with working across multiple data sources. Our Purview Data Governance solution offers some amazing capabilities across AWS and GCP for example. Purview Data Security can extend protection of files on AWS S3 and other data sources too. As a platform, Purview's intent is to offer visibility, governance, compliance, and protection across your entire data estate. We are continuously improving capabilities and data sources supported.

Is Purview planning to make custom metadata available to disposition reviewers in the Purview Disposition Page to provide additional context and allow filtering of dispositions? Particularly when dealing with event-based triggers, it would be beneficial to be have our custom metadata such as project title, case number, etc available to facilitate bulk disposition reviews.

DLP policy notifications or "policy tips" appear to users when sensitive info or a classifier is identified. However, users don't see the policy tips in desktop apps like Word or Excel, but they do see them in browser versions of these apps. I know there are some exceptions, but are there plans to deliver these policy tips in both the native app AND the browser version concurrently?
- Patrick_David
Microsoft
There is a good breakdown of what is support and not. It is possible that some of the Sensitive information types are not supported or the client is not at a supported version - Data Loss Prevention policy tips reference | Microsoft Learn

Thanks for sharing the link Patrick! nseyhanli also mentioned during the call was that it can also depend if the situation is for a SharePoint/OneDrive document that's opened on Desktop versus other desktop location. Assuming it's on ODSP, Patrick's link provides a list of supported conditions that can affect whether it will trigger or not. Licensing can be a factor as some of these are E5 only and the user must be assigned the license. If everything is supported but you are experiencing issues, contact support to investigate if there could be some environmental configuration issues preventing the policy nudge files to be updated on the client workstations.

Hi there! Could you elaborate a little more on the use case? Auto labeling along with recommended labels do pop up in the word doc. Also, when you do go share, the label is identified with its description. Thanks!

I have standardized on M365 Business Premium. What parts of Purview can be added to Business Premium. Is there documentation that explains how the parts work with each other and the rest of Business Premium.

There is a PDF table found here which can breakdown what you have depending on your license - Microsoft Purview service description - Service Descriptions | Microsoft Learn.

For anything outside what's available in Business Premium, please contact your licensing specialist to review options / add-on SKUs to leverage Purview further for your environment.

I understand that the Export-ContentDataExplorer PowerShell cmdlet is being worked on in public preview - but is there a way to 'tap into' the Content Explorer data back end to produce things like PowerBI reports using that dataset?
E.g. can you create a dashboard which tells you how many Credit Card Numbers (or other SITs) you have in your tenant based on SIT confidence level? You can see that data on a per-file/email basis in the portal - and you can export some of that information using Export-ContentDataExplorer, but the confidence level is missing from that cmdlet.
- MaximeBombardier
Microsoft
During the conversation, I mentioned that Confidence Level is not something available within Content/Data Explorer today. Currently, the primary basic intent behind Content Explorer is to show what contains sensitive information. Today, confidence levels are leveraged in DLP policies and displayed during alerts investigations for example.
We understand customers are leveraging this in more advanced reporting and investigative scenarios. We are always looking for opportunities to improve. A good method to participate in feedback reviews is to join our private NDA community at https://aka.ms/joinccp. As we expand our data security posture management scenarios, we are always on the lookout to augment reporting into actionable capabilities, and streamline investigative scenarios. - Patrick_David
Microsoft
You can see some of that with Data Security Posture Management which went Public Preview this week. If you have Security Copilot you can also ask question of the data and get responses. Learn about Data Security Posture Management (preview) | Microsoft Learn.
While I know this is not directly to your question about the POSH commandlet we can take that feedback about the confidence level also.

Is Purview planning on adding multilingual support for retention labels? If so, is there a timeline?
- MaximeBombardier
Microsoft
Follow-up question/validation - is this in regards to the display name of the label? or is it for a specific language requirement in classification that your retention labeling policy requires that isn't available yet?
- JS3030Copper Contributor
Yes, this would be multilingual support of retention label display names and descriptions that are visible to end users. Thanks!

With M365 Archive slated to get more granular, item-level archiving in 2025, will there be any updates to Purview Records Management to utilize this function? For example, a use case that we have customers inquire about all the time which is having the item be archived at the end of the retention period. While possible with flows currently, M365 Archive might be a great tie-in to an end-of-life action for retention labels.
- JS3030Copper Contributor
Also interested in learning more about this. Will item-level archiving be tightly integrated with Purview retention and disposition at the end of an item's retention period?

I have my legacy production data warehouse mapped and scanning. I am building a new datavault warehouse with the same source data, and plan to release to my business users in the future. What is the recommended way to configure Purview to be able to ensure data quality of my NEW data warehouse, is as good as the old?
In business speak - How can Purview confidently show my business users that their new data warehouse data is as good (or better than) the legacy warehouse? This will be a big selling point for Purview.
- Sandeep_Shah
Microsoft
To ensure the data quality of your new datavault warehouse matches or exceeds that of your legacy warehouse, you can leverage Microsoft Purview's data quality features. Here's an overview:
- Set Up Data Quality Rules and Scans: Configure data quality rules and run scans to assess and monitor the quality of your data assets. This includes profiling your data to understand its structure and state.
- Schedule and Continuous Monitoring: Schedule regular scans and profiling to maintain data quality over time. Set up notifications to alert you to any issues.
- Focus on Governance Domains and Data Products: Design Governance Domains and Data Products, and add your data assets to them. This will enable you to run data quality scans effectively and ensure comprehensive data governance.
By following these steps, Microsoft Purview can confidently demonstrate to your business users that the data quality in the new datavault warehouse is as good as, or better than, the legacy warehouse.
