Are there plans to add a content contains predicate to allow matching on email recipients using a SIT pattern (regex, keywords)?
- MaximeBombardier
Microsoft
This is available today with the condition of "Recipient address matches patterns". As a reminder, the list of conditions shown depends on the selected workload -- in this case, only Exchange must be selected to appear.

Adding some feedback, it would be excellent to have reports of the users with the most DLP alerts or the ability to send weekly/monthly email reports with DLP alert insights. This is something clients often request.

Thanks for sharing! We have some newer DLP analytics capabilities announced at Ignite that can bridge some of the gap. Our team also published what and how reporting can be extended via the O365 Management API and Power BI - Guided walkthrough of the Microsoft Purview extended report experience | Microsoft Community Hub. It can help visualize the top offenders for example

What is your advice on sharing confidential information with external users and the use of Information Protection labeling? I mean, do you recommend adding external users as guest users, or using a label configured with 'Any Authenticated Users' instead?
- MaximeBombardier
Microsoft
There can always be a bit of 'it depends' situation -- for example, you can have a label that has a list of external domains where it's accepted. This could be good for a label like "Trusted partners". At a high level, it's about minimizing the level of administration and I attempt to avoid having tactical labels for only a few users as much as possible.
that being said, during Ignite, we announced a new capability with SharePoint extended permissions where you could have a single label across your organization, like "Confidential\External partners" and it will essentially do User Defined Permissions based on the SharePoint permissions of that site. i.e.: delegating access validation to who has access to that site. This is an awesome way to simplify administration while empowering site admins, and securing even external users.

Will data label protection (encryption) support external dynamic distribution lists in the future? Also for years we run into issues where policy tips will not appear in Outlook client before a user sends an email. This causes the email to fail due to DLP policies. Webmail does not have this issue. Any steps being taken to fix this issue?
- Sarahzin_Shane
Microsoft
For the first question, we are having a lot of discussions on this and getting feedback. For the second question, the team is constantly working on an experience that is consistent and seamless across the workloads with policy tips.
- jsweigart3Occasional Reader
Sorry the question was backwards a little. If we want to use a DLP encryption policy with no data label protection external users are unable to open the email if sent to a dynamic distribution list in an external O365 tenant. When using data label protection the dynamic groups do work. We have some clients where we need the email encryption without the data label protection.
We would like to replace a 3rd party product but the dynamics distro is a gap we found.

If a large enterprise customer sees many many false positives returned from trainable classifiers like profanity, how can they train or recreate these to more effectively use communication compliance?
- Patrick_David
Microsoft
You can provided in product feedback on the classifiers when you find something that is not correct. Overtime we will look at all this feedback and retrain these models. At the same time you can combine conditions in your Communication compliance policies to help tune out the noise.
