- Axl99frCopper ContributorAbout "Connected Experience" deactivaiton and impact for Copilot access. If I understand well , following https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/sensitivity-labels-office-apps#prevent-some-connected-experiences-that-analyze-content, by deactivating Connected Experience, applying it on a specific label, it will prevent document tagged with this label to be analyzed by Copilot for M365 but it only concerns Copilot for M365 on Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint, but using Copilot on Teams will allow access to this document. Is it a target behaviour or is it planned in roadmap to also prevent access from Teams ? Thank you
- Samson_Chan
Microsoft
At this time, only Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are listed as supported applications. Please reach out to your Microsoft representative to provide feedback on extending this experience to other Copilot experiences.
- ShaunSchanBrass ContributorHas there been any consideration given to creating a Copilot Readiness score, much like secure score?
- tannerbriggs
Microsoft
Microsoft has developed Copilot documentation on Copilot readiness, which you can use to gauge your readiness: Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 requirements | Microsoft Learn.
Feedback like this helps us to understand what we should develop internally, so thank you.
- tannerbriggs
Microsoft
Microsoft has put a lot of thought into Copilot readiness and has created a learn.microsoft.com article on Copilot requirements: Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 requirements | Microsoft Learn. Internally, we're tracking readiness and health to understand issues customers are facing, and your feedback like this will help us make decisions about what to produce to address your needs.

Microsoft
Thanks for the question Shaun. We have Readiness details available via the Copilot Dashboard - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/insights/org-team-insights/copilot-dashboard#readiness.
- ShaunSchanBrass ContributorAre there plans to invest in the out of the box permissions reporting capabilities of SharePoint (without pursuing S.A.M)? Far too many 3rd party tools need to be leveraged to achieve such simple reporting needs. Would allow for much better Copilot prep.
- Tim WhiteCopper ContributorTotally agree - I would love to see this get more attention
- mevaibhav8304Occasional ReaderIs there a way to restrict Co-pilot access across all service when use travel to specified restricted country?
- Adparmar
Microsoft
Copilot inherits the permissions of its user; this is the broader Conditional Access Policy that can be used - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/howto-conditional-access-policy-location- mevaibhav83Copper ContributorSince Co-pilot is as application not available under conditional access policy. Any plan to make it available for customer to apply conditional access policy for co-pilot ?
- Tim WhiteCopper ContributorHow do security and data governance controls and concerns compare for Copilot for Microsoft 365 versus Copilot Studio?
- JeremyChapmanMSFT
Microsoft
Copilot Studio adds the ability to interact with data sources outside of Microsoft 365 using plugins and other action types. These would also need to be scoped to intended users or groups for that information. The same would be true when building your own full-page copilots - permissions for those should be scoped to just the users and groups intended. Related, Microsoft Graph connectors can also be scoped to users and groups as you extend search in your Microsoft 365 environment. Generally, the recommendation here is a using dynamic groups as your scoping mechanism so that users are automatically provisioned and de-provisioned as their role, status or location changes.
- mevaibhav8304Occasional ReaderIs there any DLP capability that customers can use where they have only M365 E3 license?
- JeremyChapmanMSFT
Microsoft
E3 with its included Microsoft Purview capabilities provides the foundational controls for DLP, classification, and sensitivity labels. A primary difference when you move up to E5 is that it brings more controls to automatically apply labels and classifications, which are in turn used as part of the data loss prevention policy engine.- mevaibhav83Copper ContributorI am interested to know what DLP capability for Co-pilot available for E3 customer. All i am reading is all protective control is part of E5 feature like Insider Risk, Communication compliance etc..
- Samson_Chan
Microsoft
DLP for Exchange and SharePoint online is available for E3 license. These can be used to detect egress of sensitive content, including sharing Copilot results through mail and documents.- JHandlerCopper ContributorI have the same question for the M365 Business Premium (BP) license. In other words, what components from Purview on E5 are available with the Business Premium license? DLP is a part of HIPAA requirements, IIRC, and Exchange Online Plan 1 and SharePoint Online Plan 1 are both part of the M365 BP license. If these parts of Purview for E5 are not available for BP today, are they on the roadmap to roll out with Business Premium in the next year?
- ValiantPenchBrass ContributorWill content that is tagged/classified retain its classification if it is used in a new document created by Copilot? For example, assume I have a "sensitive" classification tag on some Excel files. Bob has access to these files at this classification and uses Copilot to summarize them in a PPT deck. Will that deck automatically have the "sensitive" classification applied as well?
- augraspCopper ContributorYes, label inheritance is already working with Copilo: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/videoplayer/embed/RW1fETe?autoplay=false&postJsllMsg=true
- ValiantPenchBrass ContributorAwesome, thank you!
- Kenneth2410Copper ContributorWith Sensitivity labels, how does that affect with SharePoint sites for both internal and external users from an end user experience?
- Samson_Chan
Microsoft
For Copilot, sensitivity labels on documents stored in SharePoint sites will govern whether an end user can use M365 Copilot to access the labeled documents. The "copy and extract" permission set in a sensitivity label will allow M365 Copilot to determine if the end user can use the doc in Copilot.
