Is it visible within a document that Copilot has produced the content? For example as document property?

Aug 10, 2023For the majority of applications of Copilot we do not explicitly show where Copilot was used. The reason is we believe the users still own their output in the same way they always have. Explicitly calling out access to Copilot takes some of this ownership away from the user. Additionally, Copilot can be invoked in ways where it's actually quite hard to decide whether Copilot "produced" something (e.g. I can ask ito to offer a suggestion for how to rewrite a paragraph in Word, can use some of it's suggestions but not the wholesale suggestion -- does this mean it was created by Copilot?). The one place where this isn't the case is with Copilot in Loop. The difference here is that these capabilities are explicitly built to support interactive, collaborative work. In this case, Copilot is acting closer to an independent thought partner, so we've made the determination it's helpful to call that out.
