Event Ended
Wednesday, Jun 14, 2023, 10:00 AM PDTEvent details
Join us for a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) live video stream across four Microsoft content collaboration products: SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream! Our product teams will be answering your questions about future roadmap and recent innovation – and offering insights on what to expect in the coming months.
Each team will present five minutes of content to catch you up on the highlights, and to spark what questions you might ask, and then have 10-15 minutes to take your questions. Post your questions at any time – starting your question with the product name to help us navigate it to the right experts; example: “SharePoint: How will Copilot help me create pages and news in the future?”
This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from recent Microsoft 365 Conference (May 2-4, 2023) disclosures: Review Jeff Teper’s May 2nd (5/2) blog post.

- RobSchmidtIron ContributorFeedback: Love this AMA format, with Mark MC'ing (not just saying because he covered my question ;-)), and the product leaders talking through the upcoming features and answering questions. Love this MUCH more than asynchronous AMAs. Only improvement would be to have this in a Teams meeting, with options for participant reactions. 🙂
- the_catfixIron Contributor1000% agree. On the MS 365 insider AMA a few weeks ago, I discovered that the AMA was using a non 365 platform. I think it would be so cool for Microsoft to flex community features on Teams and Viva so that we can get ideas for our own 365 use cases.
- Benoit_FournierSteel ContributorAnd more than 20 minutes per product.
- HelenaStarenbyKnowitBrass ContributorAbout analytics, is this improving also in SharePoint?
- JenVHOBrass Contributor
more analytics from SP is one i have really look forward to! The team are starting to explore Clarity but if the out of the box SP analytics had some more in there that would be great!
- Colleen ParkerBrass ContributorSTREAM: Can we control WHO can see the Analytics? Our Comms team would like only the Owners to see the Analytics for Leader videos, not Viewers.
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
If you go into "Video settings" you can toggle off analytics. That just removes the analytics tab for viewers but leaves it for editors.

Stream - When moving videos from OneDrive to SharePoint will it break a link that may reside in another file? Stream - the trim feature is not available in Stream/SPO and I don't find ClipChamp as simple to use trim like it was in Classic Stream. Will they bring that feature back?
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
We are working on a simple "soft trim" featuer for Stream in addition to full video editing with Clipchamp coming to M365 Enterprise. The simple soft trim is under development but we don't have a timeline to share yet. - StephenRice
Microsoft
I can't speak to the Stream specific part of the question but moving a file across site collections (e.g. OneDrive to OneDrive, OneDrive to SP, SP to OneDrive, SP to SP) will break all existing links.
- larryleungpowerpCopper ContributorDo you have a link to turn on the additional analytics for SharePoint?
- Colleen ParkerBrass ContributorThis the link to turn on the File Viewers in SharePoint https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/allow-people-to-see-who-views-their-files-or-pages-ee26dde0-c30e-4eca-b1c3-38922c450967
- HelenaStarenbyKnowitBrass ContributorCan you upload meeting video files only to team sites or also to communication sites, through the new interface?
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
You can upload video files to Anywhere in M365. You can go to any site and upload. Or through the new upload option in Stream.office.com you can pick any type of site not just team sites.
- eCbouchardCopper ContributorIs there still a link to embed a list in a webpage?
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
Are you talking about Playlists? We don't have a way to embed with iframe a playlist, you can only stick the playlist into a SP page via List web part. But we know the missing iframe fora list of videos is needed like was in Stream (Classic) with embeding a channel. We are planning on starting some work there hopefully soon.
- Hughes818Iron Contributor
Are there any plans to somehow incorporate the ability to add links to external videos into the Stream Playlist...such as YouTube videos so they provide a similar experience to an uploaded video to SharePoint? (So Youtube videos and SharePoint videos show up in the list as video thumbnails to click on)
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
No plans for that at this time, but add the idea and vote on it at https://aka.ms/StreamIdeas
