Tech Community Live | AMA for SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream
Event Ended
Wednesday, Jun 14, 2023, 10:00 AM PDTEvent details
Join us for a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) live video stream across four Microsoft content collaboration products: SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream! Our product teams will be answering your questions about future roadmap and recent innovation – and offering insights on what to expect in the coming months.
Each team will present five minutes of content to catch you up on the highlights, and to spark what questions you might ask, and then have 10-15 minutes to take your questions. Post your questions at any time – starting your question with the product name to help us navigate it to the right experts; example: “SharePoint: How will Copilot help me create pages and news in the future?”
This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from recent Microsoft 365 Conference (May 2-4, 2023) disclosures: Review Jeff Teper’s May 2nd (5/2) blog post.

- Lists with flow: Does packaging list templates need Microsoft Dataverse?
- Mark-Kashman
Microsoft
No, it does not, Ai. Lists natively integrates with Power Automate - either as packaged in our new templates or if you want to create a new, custom flow directly from the list. More here: "Automate a list" https://support.microsoft.com/office/automate-a-list-7a3ba7f0-55ea-4a38-80e1-b0a0279109b5. Thanks for your question. - Mark- Thank you, Mark!
- CatherineBrass ContributorMark Kashman - I would love to know how this event is being produced, how is it hosted? What are you using for the video displaying? Your able to make the name cards appear when you change presenters.

We worked with the Jerry Honeycutt and his production team, pulling all presenters into StreamYard. This allowed them to arrange the various looks with one presenter, multiple presenters, presenters and screen sharing, overlays for people's name, added lower thirds to advertise and emphasize information (like links or names of office hours) - all dynamically throughout the event. The video feed was fed from StreamYard into our MSTC YouTube channel Live, which was added to the event page 15 minutes before going live, throughout the event, and is now on the same event page on-demand going forward. And thanks to EmilyPerina , Dylan_Snodgrass , and Allen providing support within the Microsoft Tech Community platform, holding an internal "Know Before You Answer" session with all our presenters. And then, we went live - in a blaze of Q&A glory. 🤘🥳:party_popper: - Mark

Hi Catherine! For this event we worked with a production team to use StreamYard. We had an amazing producer adding the links in live during the event. - jrbptIron Contributor+1, this has been a really well-produced event! Would love to hear more about how it was organized!
- Jerry HoneycuttCopper ContributorAnyone who’d like to know how it works behind the scenes is welcome to reach out to me. Happy to help or answer your questions.
- CaroleSLIron ContributorIs the approval automation you mentioned the current SPO list approval workflow? That's pretty unfriendly/dated...
- Miceile Barrett
Microsoft
It's not!! It's new - here's a cool video showing the new feature at min 3:25 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLVqBUG_Ls8
- atrain204Steel ContributorWill there be any updates to the Lists home page to improve usability? I would like to see ALL of my lists, not just favorites and 'recents'. Also removing/hiding lists would be ideal. Also would love to see the Lists landing page added to the M365 home app (like Forms, Stream, etc.)

Feedback taken, atrain204. The team is looking at what a future Lists home page looks like. Looping in LincolnDeMaris to review your suggestions. As for M365 home - you can now go to the Create button/experience and create a new list directly from the Microsoft 365 app (aka, Microsoft365.com page). - Mark

Enabling the SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) to be able to sites/lists within the same tenant would be great (could be the solution). I can use the tool to bring data in from SP On-Prem, but not M365 to M365 (within the same tenant, or even across tenants).
- CaroleSLIron ContributorLists/SPO - Here's a challenge. We need a single source of truth that's "consumable" as lookup lists across site collections. Furthermore, the master list needs to be a data source in PBI. The only global columns are taxonomy, which have no columns/attributes.
- jrbptIron Contributor+1
- CaroleSLIron ContributorLists/SPO - Rich text columns are only supported in libraries, not lists (or the other way around). Add to both, please!
- uUUsuBBRLvsjhFW7Iron ContributorSharePoint List: Where can we find documentation about the new SPO column [Color Tag]?
- David_SwensonSteel ContributorWe need a wizard experience to enable us to move Legacy Site Calendars to Modern Microsoft List calendar views. This must also account for reoccurring events that were scheduled in the SharePoint legacy calendar. This has been a HUGE pain point for big companies adopting Viva Connections & Modern SharePoint.
- uUUsuBBRLvsjhFW7Iron ContributorSharePoint List: is there a documentation showing all the default columns' internal names, REST API name, calculated formal name?
