Nov 06, 2024In addition to the questions posted on this page, we also answer questions posted in reply to the event on LinkedIn and X (Twitter). Here are the questions we answered:
Question from X -- I'm not clear on what Shortpath does. When and how should I use it? - answered at 7:04.
Question from LinkedIn -- To confirm, the Azure Virtual Desktop app in the Microsoft Store is no longer available for download or installation starting November 27th? If yes, will the Store remote desktop app have an option to connect on-prem server? Or will the Windows app will also do that? - answered at 16:06.
Question from YouTube -- I applied browser conditional access to my W365 PC, but didn't realize I couldn't access W365 admin even though I excluded my Cloud PC (enrolled device) from the policy. Completely locked out of my tenant. - answered at 18:44.
Follow up question from YouTube -- I tried to configure auto logon/kiosk mode in Intune, but W365 automatically logs me on as a global admin that's signed in to the W365 admin (one license). Ideas? - answered at 23:25, with a reference to the link https://aka.ms/Windows365KioskMode
Question from Tech Community - I read the announcement about the GA of HP Anywhere for W365. What countries does Northwest Europe cover? - answered at 27:04.
Question from Tech Community -- Does anyone have detailed information on what 'available bandwidth' actually means when looking at windows 365 RDP connection details? Sometimes our users see above 30mbps and sometimes they see below 8mbps. Also happens to me and I correlated it with poor user experience when available bandwidth is low, but checking all aspects of a user's home network, all the speed tests, pings etc. all showed a great connection. - answered at 30:54. The team followed up after the session with additional details: Available bandwidth is the bandwidth that the client estimates is available for RDP to use between client and server. Specifically, it uses [MS-RDPBCGR]: Client Auto-Detect Response PDU | Microsoft Learn. This number may differ from the bandwidth number that's observable in speed tests outside of the client because (a) high bandwidth applications running on the same client device are consuming bandwidth (b) other devices connected through the home network router that are consuming bandwidth.
Question from LinkedIn -- We enabled single sign on for AVD, we want to check from insights how many users are using SSO and how much time for login is reduced after enabling the same. How do we do this? - Answered at 35:11. For additional details, go to Azure Virtual Desktop Insights glossary - Azure | Microsoft Learn.
Question from Tech Community -- Can I set Windows 365 specific settings (except the provisioning policy) like RDS-Policy via Group Policy, or do I always have to use Intune Profiles? - answered at 38:36.
Question on X -- What’s included in the M365 Apps gallery image vs the standard image?
Follow up question -- For gallery images available, what would happen in customer had to deploy 21H2. What would happen if it was out of support, would customers see that somewhere? What happens if an image is going out of support or is out of support? - answered at 45:18.
Question on X -- Do I have to sign in to Windows App to add a remote PC? - answered at 50:53.
Question on LinkedIn -- What’s the status of Intune MAM for Windows App? - answered at 53:40.
Question on Windows App from Tech Community -- When I sign in with my company account it tells me that my system administrator hasn't provided any resources yet. I AM the system administrator, and I have no idea how I can provide those resources. Where is the admin side of this app? - answered at 56:31.
