I connect to hundreds of devices using Remote Desktop Windows App, and do not want or need a thumbnail/icon/preview when the Remote Desktop Windows App device list is in List view. I also do not want or need a multi-column view while in List view. There is no evident way to remove the clutter within the GUI.

Thank you for the feedback. In the macOS Windows App setting there is a toggle for "Show screenshots in thumbnails" in General tab. Does this help with your problem?

This does not help, it only hides the contents of the huge thumbnail; the thumbnail is still there.
