I’m looking to migrate away from our on prem DC and separate SQL server into Azure. My plan is to join our Windows 10 clients to our existing Azure domain (AAD), continue to use Exchange online for email and move files and folders to OneDrive. All of the above I’m happy with so far. The bit I’m unsure about is our SQL databases which our client software uses. I know I can create a SQL instance in Azure and potentially migrate our data across to it but am concerned about latency between the client app and the azure sql instance. We have a 100mb/100mb leased line as our internet link. any advice on this please1.5KViews0likes4CommentsAdding Alerts to shutdown an Azure Virtual Machine
Hi all, I'm running a lab in Azure for training purposes. Now using a DevTest Lab I could schedule a shutdown period to turn off a VM during off hours but I would like to be more granular and have the VM shutdown after one hour of inactivity for example. Or having the server turned off automatically after 2 hours of operation no matter what. I configured an alert based on "System\System Up Time" metric but no results.6.1KViews0likes4Commentsnvidia openGL in Ubuntu not working
Hi Everyone, I've created a linux based VM in Azure which uses the Nvidia graphics cards and i've been trying to get openGL working on my ubuntu azure machine and simply can't get it to work. I've wasted 12hrs so far today and i'm tearing my hear out now. I've followed microsofts guide to the letter! https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/linux/n-series-driver-setup?toc=%2fazure%2fvirtual-machines%2flinux%2ftoc.json I've read tons of posts in other forums, none of them of any help. basically whenever i try and run glxinfo i get the error "couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig. I can't run any openGL programs as it says that i don't have openGL. I've uploaded my xorg log and i there's a line in there stating "failed to initialize GLX extension (compatible nvidia x driver not found) I've also confirmed the drivers are installed correctly by running the "nvidia-smi" command any help would be very much appreciated.
