Create Linux bootable USB drive on Windows 11 for clean install
I am going to take a Linux programming course very soon and it is really struggling to work with a Linux virtual machine on my PC. It is slow and unresponsive. So I decided to install Ubuntu Linux on my spare PC (Intel i5, 8GB RAM and 128 SSD.) How can I create Linux bootable USB on Windows 11? I tried using the command prompt tool and the USB is not bootable. Please share your experience if you know how to do this. Have tried to upgrade my Dell XPS 17 L702X from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro. Issue is when it restarts for the 3rd time after installing, the Windows 11 logo is stuck on the screen, and goes no further. Did all the registry hacks of adding key "LabConfig", and DWord (32-bit) BypassTPMCheck, BypassSecureBootCheck, BypassCPUCheck, BypassRAMCheck with values of 1 each. After searching around for answers, one response wrote let the pc run for 1 to 2 hours to see if it finishes the upgrade. Did not work. 8 GB Ram and Samsung 500 GB SSD installed on laptop. Updated all the drivers, bios(2020 version), etc... Attached the setuperr2.log file. Any help with this issue? Thanks for any responses.Save the date: Windows Office Hours - March 20, 2025

I bought an used HP laptop from eBay and ready to install Windows 11 on it. When I booted the laptop from USB clean install, all of sudden it says this PC does not meet the minimal system requirements of Windows 11. So I was forced to check the system requirements with the Health Check Tool and it turns out the CPU is not supported. Here is the computer specs: CPU: Intel i5 6500 RAM: 8GB SSD: 256GB Graphics: Integrated Intel HD 630 4GB Currently, there is no OS on it. How can I install Windows 11 on i5 6500 CPU? Should I apply some tricks to bypass the Windows 11 system check?

Is there a way to hide the email address in this setting when using Microsoft Account sync? Sometimes we need to take screenshots or screen recordings of this setting, and I don’t want my email address to be displayed here. Maybe it could be replaced with a group role like "Administrator" or just "Microsoft Account" instead of showing the actual email address.
Right click on shortcut to Open file location does not work except for Excel
Right click on desktop shortcut to Open file location does not work except for Excel, Word shortcut. Anyone else experience this? If I right click on desktop ANY shortcut icon in Windows 10 on other laptop next to me and select Open File Location-it will open any location for ANY shortcut or program. I have the same programs on Windows 11 laptop and Bat and other files. When I Right click on desktop in Windows 11 23H2 (have not updated in a month or so due to prob I read with updates) and select "Open File Location" , it yields no results. Nothing opens UNLESS it is the 2 shortcuts Word and Excel shortcuts. Right click and select Troubleshooter compatibility also does not work but never tried it from desktop so I do not care. I have normal things on desktop like Zoom, , Macrium, FileZilla Pro, Chrome, Firefox, various shortcuts to folders... Works within the Start menu or if I select just Open in the start menu. But on desktop, nope except MSFT Word and Excel. Same for Open Folder Location. Not a big deal but just wondering. Thank you very much!
