Android 11 Edge permissions pop-ups can't be clicked
Ik tried several feedback forms and social media. Hopefully this is the right forum now... Android 11 with Edge. When going to a site like HLN.be , vrtnws.be after 1 or 2 seconds i get a pop-up asking for allowing notifications, or some sites ask permissions to share location. The problem: i can't click on accept or block. The pop-up can't be closed. Resulting in a website that can't be viewed... In edge i can only click e.g. the refresh button, but can't read it scroll the website to read it. It feels like and Edge bug. Nokia X20 here...Multiple accounts on Microsoft Edge Android
Hi there, I am switching to Microsoft Edge on android for the first time from Chrome on my mom's phone as my phone is dead and I cannot have a new one due to lockdown. I was checking if I can create a new profile i.e. my profile to my mom's profile but I am not seeing the option so I am asking that can we add multiple profiles on android Edge(Excluding work or school account) by any way or there is no option in Edge Android? Shared Device Mode Feedback: Edge browser needs to be added to the universal sign out for shared device mode. The current method when using Intune requires that edge be added to the app cache clearing policy to clear out the session values and profile when a user “signs out” of Managed Home Screen. When using a third party MDM with authenticator manually set to shared device mode, signing out of Edge doesn’t invoke the universal sign out like Teams does. This leads into an authentication loop that requires the user to kill Edge to get out of it. (Using Teams to do the sign out works fine, but even then Edge gets confused from time to time). Clearing app cache is still a requirement because the profile never gets truly removed here as well. Great things happening here! Just think the flow could be a little cleaner when it comes to the browser.
Sending page from other device (e.g. Edge on Windows 11) to Edge Android is working
Hi, I think I found a bug in Android Edge Enterprise Sync that affects all AAD account. Chromium-based browser has a "push"-like mechanism to handle sending a tab across session. This feature works when "Notifications Enabled" under edge://sync-internals has the status of True. (Semi-related old bug on the upstream: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=42145) When it is inactive (status False) pages you sent to target device will not trigger any notification (user click on the notification to open the sent URL); you have to go to settings to initiate sync to make the notification appears. I tested three different AAD account from different tenants and found out that "Notification Enabled" is always false when signed-in to Edge Android. Further triaging suggests that this bug: Only affects AAD account. MSA account has "Notification Enabled" = true. Only affects Edge Android. Windows and Linux Edge has "Notification Enabled" = true Happens on Edge Android stable (100.0.1185.50) and Play Store Beta/Insider (102.0.1245.12). When "Notification Enabled" = true I get the sent page/tab within few seconds, which is great. Sadly this never happens with Edge Android + AAD account. I have tried to file bug report via in-app "send feedback" quite few while back, no response. More recently, I submitted a support ticket, but got brushed off as business support case and suggested to pay minimum to $95 just to report a bug, which is silly. Edge (Android) "Send to Phone" ; Replicate w. Intune?
Hello, If I try and deploy either a "managed web app" to get a shortcut on my Android device OR using Microsoft Managed Home Screen (configuring it using an app configuration policy) both of those ways open up the "normal" Edge browser. However if I select "Send to phone" the website / shortcut then open Edge without any menus so it becomes like a mobile app; how can I replicate that behavior when using Intune i.e. to deploy such a shortcut on the home screen of a Intune managed Android device? Best Regards - Karl Update: Solved it by using Chrome instead of Edge, if I use Chrome then the weblink deployed through Google Play (see link below) honor the "display"-setting in the weblink; Add and assign Managed Google Play apps to Android Enterprise devices - Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Docs Disappointed that it doesn't work w. Edge since both Chrome and Edge are chromium-based.
Edge freezes when clicking on a Google Search result
Android 11 - Latest Update Pixel 5 Edge Dev 93.0.916.1 Google set to default search in the browser. Whenever I search something using the address bar, the search loads just fine, but clicking on any of the links causes Edge to freeze. Using the native Google search on Android and opening the link in Edge works find. Also, going to Google.com and searching that way also works fine. This only happens when using the address bar to search. Bing and DuckDuckGo also work with address bar searches with no problems. Any ideas on what might be happening?Edge Android is way too slow
Hello everyone, I started using Edge on my entry-level laptop, and I absolutely love it. Filled with features and SegmentHeap drastically reduces the amount of RAM being used, and it's way faster than Chrome or any other browser I've used. However, on my phone, it's a whole other story. I am using a Samsung Galaxy A50, a 2019 mid-range phone and pretty much every browser performs fine, except Edge, it is horribly slow. It takes ages to load webpages, and when they do load, scrolling and navigating is choppy and slow. I don't understand why this is happening, as every other browser works fine. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I have switched back to Chrome painfully on both my laptop and phone, as syncing between them is very important to me. Thanks 😃😃😃
