Student (Guest) users don’t see the option to switch organizations when they click on the link to the Team in the browser because the cache doesn’t recognize that they have “Guest” privileges. They don’t have the option to choose a different organization because they are already logged in with their WSSU.edu e-mail. They get put in a weird kind of purgatory. The only easy solution I’ve found (because I’m not walking students through cache clearing) is to get them to open an incognito browser and copy and paste the link. Even then, we still run into issues. When they aren’t logged in properly, they don’t have the ability to type in chat or see the chat. They can’t participate in polls for extra credit. This was a common problem in Teams in 2020-2021, so I’m just wondering if it’s been resolved.511Views0likes0CommentsDisabling guests from posting in a private channel
We use Teams for the parents at our school. Each classroom has their own private channels. The parents are added as guests. In the public channels I am able to see where I can disable guests from starting new posts (first picture). But in private channels this setting is nowhere to be found (see second picture). Does anyone know if it is possible to disable guests from starting new posts in a private channel?2.2KViews0likes1CommentHow to Delete A Student Guest Account/Chat
A mother brought her student's ipad to me because of chats running with inappropriate stuff on Teams. It appears the kid has created his own guest account using his own MS teams credentials. When you click on "teams" it advises "you're not on any Teams". So basically, near as I can tell, there is an open ended chat running with any user that is invited in. It appears the chat isn't based out of any particular "team." How can I delete this "guest" user and even better, how could we make it so kids can't add/create another account to their teams app? Thanks for the help!Attendees showing as 'Guest' causing breakout-room issues
We're using Teams for our seminars at university, and were excited when breakout-rooms rolled out. But, we've been unable to use breakout-rooms because there are always some students showing as 'guests'. Guests are greyed-out and can't be assigned to breakout rooms. It happened to me last week - I'd joined in the normal way, but I was registered as 'guest'. Also, my screen looked different - the controls were at the bottom of the screen instead of the top, there were less of them, and there was a 'hang up' icon instead of 'leave'. We've tried making sure everyone have accepted the Teams invitation, and left and rejoined, but it hasn't made any difference. Hi All , Is it possible to stop members having read access to meeting recordings by default? We are a school and don't want students to be able to view the recordings from the meeting. Is this possible?802Views0likes0CommentsCant find Class Materials folder anywhere
Hi All, When having a class team there is usually a class material folder which is locked to members by being read only. I have checked in the recycle bin and even the secondary one but nothing. we haven't even been back from the summer holidays for me to get it into secondary recycle bin if I did delete it by mistake. I think it actually didn't create it when the team was made. How do I recreate this folder? Can I simply make a read only folder in the Sharepoint library for this team? Please help!961Views0likes0Comments
