When I apply the extended header to my Sharepoint site, the site navigation links disappear. This error was only seen with this header format. When I switch from extended to any other format, the navigation links reappear. Hey everyone, I'm new to this an we think about using sharepoint as a document-managing software in our small company. I have an important question that will decide if we are going to use the software or not. I hope someone can help me with this... Is it possible, that sharepoint automatically adds informations like "creator of the document", "Version", "Date of creation", "file path", "confirmation by" on word, excel and power point documents? Maybe in the header of a document? I know softwares that are able to do it, like the german Babtec solution. Thank you very much for your help! Good morning, First of all, this is my first post in this forum, and I have to say that I'm not a developer guy, so please forgive me in advance if I seem dumb with some things related to this matter 😣 The company for I'm working for has several communication sites in SharePoint Online, and some of them have disclaimer texts like the attached (see attached "Disclaimerheader.png"). The thing is that text is currently in Spanish, but that site is for English people, so must be in English, so my boss told me to fix that. I took a first glance, and from Appearance sites it cannot be altered (only footer, but not header). So I run some searchs on Google, and I found out that this could be done by a kind of code/script injected within the site. I took a look at Site contents, and I saw this app packages (see "Apppackages.png"). Initially I thought "topXXX" was what I was looking for, but today I've found out that "Modern Script Editor web part" could be the responsible (snooping around in this forum before creating this thread). The problem is the guy who added this web part package to the sites is no longer working here, neither the IT guy who supposedly updated it, so I'm alone fighting with this issue, with almost zero knowledge of how this works. What I want is change the header from Spanish to English, but I have no idea how to alter/modify the web package which do this. How could make it? A guide for Sharepoint dummies would be great! Any kind of help will be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance! Best regards1.1KViews0likes0CommentsCustomizing the look of the Header area and adding social media links
Hi, Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm new to UI in SharePoint. The site is a SharePoint Online Team Site. I need to make the top section of the various pages look more inviting. Currently on the site pages, lists & doc libraries - the Global Nav shows above the logo, which is not what we want. Plus the background is white. I'd like to make it look more like the header section (blue section above the pictures) in following example. Where the logo, title "The Landing" and then the Global top nav links are all in line as shown below. Then change the background color like they did - shown in blue below. Also, is it possible to change the font and size of the Navigation Text? Also, if possible, I'd like to add in this same header area to the right of the Global Nav Menu Links, the following social media buttons/links which should take the user out to the appropriate site: Can I accomplish this? If so, what do I need to use? Thanks!5.1KViews0likes2CommentsHide Site Header communication site
Hi. We are trying to hide the Site header in a communication site, and we would like to know if there is any possibility of doing so. We are trying with some css or js, injected in a webpart and SPFx extension, but there is some flickering, because the code is not executed before the header is showed. In addition, to achieve this we are depending on some CSS classes that we understand could change. Is there any supported way to do it? Or will be supported in the future? As a web designer, I've noticed a script behavior that is absolutely not done in the header of the modern template in SharePoint Online. If I add an image to the header, the script automatically adds a filter over it going from white to grey. The header text is automatically colored white. To show you what I mean: Image before upload: Image after upload: This is a disaster for any designer. It's a mistake. Never change or interfere with an image someone uploads! I would like to see the designers of the Modern template to remove this automatic overlay and give people the opportunity to choose a color for text. Or... Could someone please tell me how to do this myself? I am an expert in CSS and HTML, but have no options in the Modern template (also weird)1.2KViews0likes1Comment
