Help with OneDrive
12 TopicsOneDrive just deleted thousands of my files.
Long story short: I uninstalled OneDrive from my PC a LONG time ago. I don't want to use it. Despite this, microsoft put a "onedrive" folder onto my computer without my consent, and copied every single file on my computer into it. I logged into my onedrive to see if the files were on the cloud (because otherwise what would be the point of the folder on my pc), and nothing was backed up. Once I ensured that the files on my PC were not synced with OneDrive (bearing in mind i never asked them to do this, I uninstalled OneDrive and disabled syncing several times as it kept re-enabling it without my consent), I deleted the folder. I don't know how, but OneDrive had merged them without asking me to, and now I've lost thousands of files. I am so sick of this stupid app.199Views0likes0CommentsThere was a problem signing you in
OneDrive says "OneDrive isn't connected" and offers to Sign In. Attempting to do so results in an unhelpful screen that says "There was a problem signing you in" without any explanation. The account works perfectly well if used online from a browser. OneDrive can be accessed with no issues from the browser; it only fails when using the sync app in the local computer. OneDrive was previously working perfectly well on the same computer. The failure to login is a recent occurrence. Things I have already tried: - Unlinking the PC and trying to re-add the account (same error when logging in) - Uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive - Deleting cached account from the credential manager - Checking for Windows updates - Running sfc /scannow The problem started occurring shortly after applying the latest Windows Update, although I am not sure that both things coincided in time. The computer is running WIndows 10.680Views2likes5CommentsSharing one drive
Hi, I have 1Tb one drive account and am saving all my photos from my samsung phone to there. My husband also has a samsung phone and I want his phone to save his photo to my one drive account as well to keep the photos together. I tried to log in with my email on his account but that would disconnect my phone. Two phones can't be connected to the same onedrive account. How could I save his photo to my one drive account? Dear All, I've been using OneDrive to back up my data, with the OneDrive folder located on my external SSD. However, after reinstalling OneDrive, it no longer allows me to select a folder on the external SSD. Does anyone know if OneDrive has discontinued this feature or if there's another way to achieve this? Thank you!328Views0likes1CommentHow to show C:\Desktop as the only Desktop , NO OneDrive ?

Despite activating the People feature several months ago, it appears to have overlooked numerous subfolders within my image collection. These folders are organized manually by year and date, with the issue primarily affecting older folders predating approximately 2021. While the feature successfully analyzes and categorizes newer photos, it consistently skips over many earlier folders. Is there a method to compel the OneDrive People feature to include these overlooked folders in its facial recognition analysis?590Views1like4CommentsOneDrive folder share with anyone unexpectedly requires signin
Hi Team I have a family subscription of MS365. I wanted to create a file drop for someone else to drop photos into. In a web browser (Brave), I signed into my OneDrive and I created a folder, clicked on the Share icon, then under Copy link, ensured the option was set to Anyone with the link can edit (no expiry or password requirement was set), then clicked on Copy to generate the link. Upon testing this link, I can open the folder and view its content, but when I try to upload by drag/drop or with the upload button, it always redirects to the login page, so the end user needs to create their own MS account or signin into the MS account. Since the note for the option for Anyone says "Share with anyone, doesn't require sign-in", it is unexpected behaviour. I tested this issue on various devices, and with the end user as well and it's the same behaviour. Is there a workaround for this issue?640Views0likes0CommentsBrand new DELL machine, OneDrive shortcut in arabic المخزن الشخصي -- How to remove it?
Please see the screenshot. The situation is as this. A new Dell notebook was purchased and initial Windows started. With this, OneDrive was deploying a shortcut, named المخزن الشخصي, in arabic, which relates to the Vault feature. Firstly, no one requested vault to be active or enabled per default. Secondly, deleting this shortcut will re-create it instantly - in the wrong language Vault was disabled online (a very peculiar process btw. - instead of disabling it within the app's settings) - but the character are still wrong and the shortcut cannot be deleted or changed. Please review and, if possible, sketch a solution. Kind Regards1.1KViews0likes1Comment
