Hi, first off - apologies if I'm in the wrong space. I really do not understand the community hub structure, and there doesn't seem to be one for lighthouse. recently came across our 2nd tenant this year that did not have any CA policies set. Assuming this was just overlooked during P1 purchasing or something. Is there a way to view CA status within Lighthouse for all tenants? We do not have the full granular admin setup - our customers are sub-tenants but only just. We have domain admins for each, but our personal accounts do not have Security Admin roles on them. Saying this because it locks me out of some Lighthouse features. But trying to find a way to check this easily. Thanks28Views0likes2CommentsEnable MFA method
Dear, Currently in our company, the authentication methods policy > Microsoft Authenticator defaults to “any”. Either “passwordless” or “Push”. It is possible to enable the following authentication method through a conditional access policy, currently it is enabled for some users. Desired authentication method: The current method is as follows: Can it be enabled for professional accounts or is it only focused on personal accounts? Thanks in advance.62Views0likes1CommentCA policy for corporate devices
I would like to create a conditional access policy to block all non corporate devices from accessing Office 365 resources. I created a policy: Applies to -> User Group Applies to -> all resources Applies to -> Win 10 Filter for devices exception-> Ownership: company & trust type: Entra Hybrid joined. Action: block The above works fine for office desktop login, i.e. blocks non corporate devices and allows corporate devices. However, a side effect is that sign ins from browser on a corporate device is still blocked.42Views0likes1CommentQ: Restricting access to Business Web Application/Non-Enterprise Application
Hi all, We are in the middle of moving our on-prem infrastructure to Intune and more specifically, building out conditional access policies. All but one of our business applications have been straightforward with the process to limit access unless certain conditions are met from an authentication, device, or location compliance perspective. The one business application we are needing to find a solution for is a web-based application that we do not control outside of user administration and limited-customization. Typically this would be fine if SSO was leveraged, but this web application, unfortunately and not without several conversations with the developers due to the sensitive nature of the data being stored, does not have SSO on their roadmap. Users can access this application from any web browser using their username and password credentials and an application specific 2FA process using SMS code. There is no connection between our MS tenant and this web application. Due to the sensitive nature of the information stored within this application and the availability of this application from any device with a web browser has raised my antenna with security concerns. Especially in the case of a user downloading information from this site on their BYOD mobile device as they would may need to do in the course of their duties, but if they left the organization, we have no way of wiping that data through the removal of the work profile like we do with all other work data through Intune device compliance measures. We can limit what devices are allowed to connect to work resources (Complaint) and access work applications (all but one, and they need to be compliant to do so), but is there a way to not allow the personal profile of any BYOD device that is compliant, from accessing or logging into this specific URL in any browser from the personal profile web browser?37Views0likes1CommentEntra ID Connect Sync - Issue Updating the SQL 2019 Local DB
Hello, Does anyone know how to patch/update the SQL Server 2019 LocalDB utilised by Microsoft AD Connect / Entra Connect? We have identified vulnerabilities on the version of SQL 2019 LocalDB used by Microsoft Entra Connect. The trace file in C:\ProgramData\AADConnect shows the following version: Package=Microsoft SQL Server 2019 LocalDB , version=15.0.4138.2 (CU11) We are attempting to update this local database to version 15.0.4415.2 (CU30), using the following package: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=100809 However, when we run the package it cannot identify the SQL Server 2019 LocalDB server instance. There is a message stating: "The version of SQL Server instance Shared Component does not match the version expected by the SQL Server update. The installed SQL Server product version is 11.4.7001.0, and the expected SQL Server version is 15.0.2000.5" The version it references is SQL Server 2012, however the logs show the database as SQL 2019 and the database instance name within the Entra Connect / AD Connect agent includes 2019. I have attempted leaving the service running, manually starting the database instance, running as admin, and running the package via command prompt targeting the instance. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.62Views0likes0CommentsAPI-driven provisioning to on-premises Active Directory mapping of the manager not working anymore
Hello Guys, I have a problem with the provisioning service of the above enterprise application. The whole time it was working fine until yesterday when I changed an attribute mapping (not the manager mapping) and now the manager is not sync because he can't lookup the manager, with every user even though the all worked before. Error: UnableToResolveReferenceAttributeValue Someone have an Idea or the same problem?38Views0likes0CommentsSCIM provisioning - custom app authentication
Hi, in the documentation for handling endpoint authentication, two methods are given: 1) a "long-lived token" (i.e. a secret key that has to be pasted in-clear by the admin) 2) "Microsoft Entra bearer token" - similar to other services (e.g. callbacks for MS Teams bots), Microsoft sign the outgoing calls, and the app being provisioned can validate them against Microsoft's public keys To me, option (2) is by far the best - each message is signed individually, there is no manual handling of secrets etc. As said in the documentation - "Apps that use Microsoft Entra ID as an identity provider can validate this Microsoft Entra ID-issued token." - great! So why on earth does it then say "The token generated by the Microsoft Entra ID should only be used for testing. It shouldn't be used in production environments." ? Why not? The whole system of Entra bearer tokens is only for test? And production should go back to secret keys, with all the problems they have? It doesn't seem right.. What am I missing here?107Views7likes0CommentsNew role recommendation: Read Only Exchange Admin
To fully leverage PIM, we are transitioning to Entra roles wherever possible. We wish we could get off of customized Exchange RBAC roles, but the Exchange Recipient Admin role, lacks access to information like mail flow rules, which is essential for troubleshooting mail delivery issues. We would appreciate the introduction of a read-only role that allows viewing all information in Exchange without the ability to make changes.191Views0likes3CommentsMembers of a privileged access group cant validate dynamic group membership
Hi All, Does anyone know when this ability will be rolled out to members of a PAG with the group administrator role. Currently we are rolling out a PIM implementation using access packages to control PIM roles using privileged access groups using the least privileged model. Although this has worked well so far, we have an issue with admins who have the group administrator role via a PAG not being able to validate a dynamic group membership role. I know this feature is currently in preview, but was wondering if this is on Microsoft's roadmap to resolve it before it the preview is completed? As our admins use this feature a lot, we are currently having to assign this role as eligible to a user via PIM, which defeats the object of using the entitlement management access packages controlled via PAG's.
