Hi there, Here is the issue: In Multi-App Kiosk Mode for Android A user makes or receives a phone call that is long enough to trigger lock screen Call can continue indefinitely despite no longer seeing the Telephony UI Time to hang up, enter your passcode, you are taken to Managed Home Screen From here you can't access the Telephony UI and hence you can't hang up! The call interface Telephony UI is not an App on its own that you can Add to the Home Screen Any ideas welcome. Ta, Ian Hearnes37Views0likes0CommentsCannot allow site permissions Edge + MHS
We are deploying Edge in Managed Home Screen on our Android shared device (with Azure AD). When browsing to a web site that asks for permissions (Location, Camera, etc) we get the pop-up for selecting Block or Allow but the nothing happens when tapping any option. If we exit kiosk-mode (turn of Managed Home Screen) it works as expected, but as soon as MHS is active we cannot grant any site permissions. One workaround we found is to refresh the site several times and then tap the padlock in the address bar. The permission is now set to "automatically blocked" and can be changed to "allowed" but this is not a very user friendly way of course. I should also inform that the overlay detection setting in Edge is disabled. Please advice! //Niklas739Views0likes0CommentsManaged Home Screen Dedicated Devices in Multi-app Kiosk Mode_No Virtual Home Button
Hi All, I'm testing out the Managed Home Screen with 2-3 apps on dedicated devices in multi-app kiosk mode. I tested them on a Zebra TC77, which has physical buttons below the display, and all worked as expected. However, when testing on a Zebra TC57, the Home Button and Recent Apps buttons disappear shortly after rebooting the device, or immediately after opening any of the 2-3 apps. I've spoken with Microsoft and this is by design, which makes sense. However, both the Device Configuration Profile and Managed Home Screen App Configuration Profile offers settings for a Virtual Home Button. I have attempted to enable this as both a "swipe-up" and a "floating" virtual home button, in both the Device Config Profile and the App Config Profile, and the Virtual Home Button does not appear. I believe the issue is related to the Overlay Permissions, because when I have the Virtual Home Button enabled, the Managed Home Screen Settings shows a red notification which wants me to grant Overlay Permissions for the app. Those permissions have already been granted. When I turn off the Virtual Home Button, that notification goes away. Does anyone have any ideas on a solution for this issue? I do have an open ticket with Microsoft and will update this post if we reach a resolution. *Resolved* - The issue ended up being the 'Notification Windows' setting in the Device Configuration Profile. You have to turn that to 'Not Configured', and that will resolve the issue of the Overlay Permission alert (you'll still get this alert one time when the scanner is first setup, but after that it will go away), and it also resolves the issue of the Virtual Home Button not appearing if you have that setting turned on.6.1KViews0likes2CommentsVirtual Home Button on Zebra TC57 Not Working
When setting up Zebra TC57 scanner devices as Corporate-owned dedicated devices in Multi-app Kiosk Mode, the Virtual Home Button does not work, whether it is set to 'Swipe-up' or 'Floating'. I have an open ticket with Microsoft who has confirmed that the setting is working on the Samsung device that they are testing, so it appears to be a Zebra specific issue. Any ideas for possible solutions?3.3KViews0likes2CommentsThe Manged Home Screen app no longer provides access to installed apps
We have a kiosk profile which uses the Managed Home Screen app. We deploy 3 apps to the device upon enrollment and they were previously visible on the home screen. A week ago, the problem arose where the apps are no longer visible on the home screen. When accessing the diagnostic screen (tapping the back button 15 times) I can see that the apps are actually installed on the device. Performing a re-sync does not alleviate the problem. Exiting Kiosk mode is also not possible as the option to provide a pin is not available. The device is visible in the portal. What other troubleshooting steps can I take?1.2KViews0likes1Comment
