Here are the locations where you can find the sensitivity label of a document (if there are any that I've missed, please feel free to add it here) Sensitivity Label Button in the Document: In Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, you can find the Sensitivity label button on the Home tab. This button allows users to apply or view sensitivity labels directly within the document interface. (Sensitivity label app on the upper right) (the bottom left will show the label applied to the document) Document Properties > Advanced Properties Sensitivity labels can also be found in the document properties. To access this, go to File > Info > Properties > Advanced Properties. Here, you can see detailed metadata, including any applied sensitivity labels. Sensitivity Label Column in SharePoint: In SharePoint, sensitivity labels are displayed in a dedicated column. This allows users to quickly see the sensitivity level of documents stored within SharePoint libraries Windows File Explorer: Sensitivity labels can be extended to Windows File Explorer, allowing users to apply and view labels directly from their file management interface. Mobile Applications: Office mobile apps for iOS and Android also support sensitivity labels, enabling users to apply and view labels on the go. Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal: Administrators can manage and view sensitivity labels applied across the organization through the Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal. This portal is only accessible to IT admins who has the right Purview role.2.5KViews0likes7CommentsExtremely Slow Performance Since Defender Was Pushed on Us
Compliance, Security, Protection, and Defender are all extremely slow, with responses from screen to screen ranging from 30 seconds to multiple minutes between clicking items and waiting for Microsoft cloud to return results. I have a GB link and speed test well over 600 Mbps so it's not on my end. It appears the cutover in late January to this new "Defender" platform has been extremely detrimental to the Office portal response times in these portals. What is being done to resolve this?19KViews1like12CommentsNew additions in Compliance manager
Hi everyone, I was just marveling about the addition of custom regulations in Compliance manager but apparently very few users seem to be using this particular module in Purview , at least I can't seem to find any user forum for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or am I the only user of Compliance manager in the know universe 🙃 Regards, Guðjón17Views0likes0CommentsAuto-labelling in Purview-Which license or alternatives can be used rather than E5 ?
We are considering adopting Purview for Information Protection and DLP, but we are currently on E3 licenses. Given the extensive size of our SharePoint environment, auto-labelling is crucial for applying sensitivity labels to content across wide scopes automatically. My question is, are there any alternatives to upgrading licenses to E5 or adding the Compliance Add-on? Upgrading several thousand users to E5 or the Compliance Add-on requires significant justification, and I am wondering if there are other interim solutions we could leverage for a period of one year. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Kev315Views0likes2CommentsWhat are the exact steps (the latest) to enable container support in Purview?
I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this one for the last couple hours. Can someone help me out with the exact steps (the latest) to enable container support (SharePoint Sites, Teams, 365 Groups) in Purview? Thanks in advance !472Views0likes3CommentsMicrosoft Purview Sensitivity labels: restricting users from selecting lower level of sensitivity
Howdy Folks! Do we have an option to restrict users from selecting a label that is lower than previously used (on a reply/forward email scenario) ? I'm aware of the "users must provide justification to remove/downgrade a classification" option but, is there a way we could completely restrict downgrading? Has anyone worked around this ? This is a crucial option on our approach of aligning to Australian government standards. any thoughts are greatly appreciated! We are currently using M365 Business Premium licence and hence are using Azure Information Protection Premium Plan 1. We created an 'Internal' sensitivity label on compliance.microsoft.com, with "assign permissions now" configuration granting co-author access to all users and groups within the organisation . The label is working in the user's Outlook web app. However, when drafting a new email in Outlook desktop app, the option to select the label is there, but when I click on the label itself it reverts back to "no label". All the users to which label policy is scoped can see the Label. but can't apply it. Some insights: 1. If I create a label with "Let users assign permission" configuration and then select the "Encrypt-Only" or "Do-Not-Forward" options. Then users can see that label and apply it in the Outlook desktop app and web. 2. If I create labels with "Assign Permission now" configuration, scope it to both file and email, grant co-author access to 'Authenticated Users', or 'all users and groups within the organisation', then users can select the label in Word/Excel etc, but not Outlook Desktop app. They can assign the same label in Outlook Web though. We are on the latest - Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2403 Build 16.0.17425.20176) 64-bit. We use built-in labels by Office apps and never used AIP unified labelling client or the classic client.Solved1.3KViews0likes2CommentsEmail alerts for sharepoint action "DownloadedFile"
Hi, We are trying setup alerts for files being downloaded on specific executive sharepoint sites. We have created a custom alert policy in security.microsoft.com for that specific site and did few test downloads. We have not received any notifications for these activities. Tried searching the audit logs manually and there are no entries for these activities. Is there any specific setting that needs to be turned on in order to trigger the alert policy? We have activated "Reporting" in Site collection features. Thanks in advance!!514Views0likes2Comments
