48 TopicsThe Chat Notification Badge That Won't Die
I know there's another thread on this, but literally none of those solutions worked, so I'm a starting a new thread. My chat notification won't go away. All of my chats are read. Here's everything I've done to fix this already (note- It's a corporate computer so I can't mess with the anti-virus): Signed out of the app every (desktop, web, phone) Restarted my computer Cleared the cache data from all 13 different locations Changed the setting to close the app when I shut down Closed it in the Task Manager Turned off all of my notifications Clicked on every chat I've received over the last week The only thing that seemed to maybe be the culprit was a very large company meeting and I was the last to leave. There was a lot of chat in that meeting, though I didn't participate in any of it. The reason I think this was when I went to log into to Teams from my browser, as I started to type "Microsoft Teams" I noticed in the suggested sites that there was a chat message from that meeting. So obviously I've left the meeting. I've deleted that chat. I've even left the teams channel that hosts those meetings. For what it's worth, I don't have any notifications on the phone app (android). It's just on the desktop and the web. Please, for the love of god, help. It's slowly driving me insane and I don't have the mental capacity to deal with anything else that makes me insane during quarantine. 🙂 *jk- I'm fine. It's a joke*148KViews3likes53CommentsTeams Notification Integration with Mac OS Notifications--is is missing?
Hello All, Teams banners are not showing up in Apple Notifications: On Catalina: 10:15:5, MS Teams (from MS Office 365), Version 1.3.00.18164 I am getting banners, for the requisite 5 seconds, but when I go to pull down the Mac OS Notifications list, it is not listed there. When I go to "System Preferences"-->"Notifications", I don't see "Teams" listed. Should I? I feel it should be integrated with the Mac notification so that the Teams' notifications can be viewed after the 5 second banner disappears, and also in the order received with other notifications. If I miss that 5 second display (maybe I had an alternate desktop obscuring the banner), it's essentially lost to me. Thanks for you time/help. No one in our office receives notifications for messages in our team channel even when mentioned. No banner, sound or anything. I've checked multiple times that all notifications are set properly I'm at a loss. The one thing that does happen is the task bar icon in the bottom right hand corner goes from green to red.37KViews4likes11CommentsTeams notifications not working on Windows 10 desktop app
Hello, I have a similar issue reported by many people. Desktop Teams application stops showing notification after 3-5 minutes minimized. Also, there is a delay between getting notification on a mobile device (Android 10) and desktop, can take several minutes. I've replaced 2 laptops because of hardware failure, and on all 3 have this issue with Teams. Some of my colleagues also experience it. I have completed steps recommended in this thread (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/no-sound-notification-in-teams-app-when-instant/b148e808-3a4f-44e2-9fc3-d6fcac86b00a), it didn't work. As a workaround, I don't minimize Teams windows, but this is not convenient. Environment: - windows 10 enterprise 18362.418 x64 - teams 1.3.00.362 (64-bit). Hello All, I just want to say thank you for any help that you may be able to provide. My company used to use Skype for Business, and when our status was set to Do Not Disturb, this would silence notifications from both chats and any Outlook emails. In Teams, when I am set to Do No Disturb, it only silences the chats but emails that get sent to me by co-workers still pop up as a notification on my screen from Outlook. I know that the two applications are synced because Teams correctly shows the correct status when I have a meeting set up in Outlook, and when I type an email to someone in Outlook, it shows their status in the bubble next to their name in the TO field. It seems funny that this feature would have been take away in Teams. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I think I have gone through most of the settings, but have had no luck. Am I missing something? Thank you!24KViews2likes3CommentsNot receiving any messages or notifications from MS Teams on Mac OS X (Monterey 12.3.1)
On my MacBook Air M1 (running the latest OS X version) I am not getting any messages or notifications at all, and not only on the desktop app, but neither on the web app. As soon as I refresh (the web app) or quit & open the desktop app, the messages will appear, but I won't be getting any new messages/notifications until I refresh/re-open the app again. This is happening only on my MacBook, in the meanwhile I get all the messages¬ifications instantly on my iOS device. I have already tried turning notification on and off, cleared out the cache by removing these files: Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Application Cache/Cache Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/blob_storage Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Cache Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/databases Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/GPUCache Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/IndexedDB Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Local Storage Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/tmp But since the web app is behaving the same way, I don't think that it's an issue with the desktop app files. Worth mentioning, my iOS device (where I get all the messages) is connected to the same Wi-Fi connection as the MacBook. And also MS Teams was working fine on Friday (6th of May), and I have not changed any configuration, did not install any new apps and nor did I update anything else on the laptop. If anyone knows what might be the issue, I would appreciate it a lot!12KViews1like9CommentsMultiple notifications for the same chat
Is there any way to reduce the number of notifications I get from a chat to just one? Right now, if someone sends me: "Hi" (return) "I have a quick question" (return) "it's about x" (return) "Can I do...." (return) I get 4 popups, all on top of each other, all displaying the message. This is intrusive, and due to the sensitive nature of some content, it can be really bad if I'm sharing my screen, or have someone looking over my shoulder. Skype, for comparison, will show the first message, and then just flash/make a noise for subsequent messages. This allows people to send "." and then any sensitive information in order to help protect the recipient. Is there any way to mimic this behavior on Teams?12KViews2likes7CommentsTeams answer button
Hi, I have seen this asked a few times but don't see any answers. When someone calls me on Teams I get no option to answer the call. If I press ctrl-Shift-S, the call is answered but there is no popup. Seems to be okay when from someone internal. But other internal users have no issues. I’ve checked all settings I can think of but they look fine. Any suggestions?9.3KViews0likes8CommentsTeams sub channel no notifications
Hello there. Sorry if I am in the wrong place. Me and my work colleagues are enjoying the teams app in these difficult times and we want to get the most out of it. I think the business is on office 2019, and we seem to have access to lots of good stuff, sharepoint etc. We have set up some channels in the teams section for the various bids we are working on and within these further channels breaking the bid down. Unless we are actually in the teams section of the app we have no idea anyone has posted. If we go into the team section channels with notifications are bolded, but thats not much use unless we are in the teams section. Is there no way to have a number or what ever appear on the teams logo on the left just like it does on the chat icon? I have checked notifications settings they are all on.9.1KViews0likes7Comments
